Years ago at a brand-new Texas Roadhouse in Hunt Valley, Rhianna had begun working shifts as a carry out specialist when she noticed someone new hanging around the expo counter in the kitchen. One day, she was talking television shows with one of her coworkers when Justin decided to join the conversation on the topic of Netflix's second season of Daredevil. Instantly, they bonded over the show -- among MANY other shared interests -- becoming fast friends. Soon enough, they were looking forward to each evening shift they shared together. Of course, at the end of each night Justin would always offer to shuttle Rhianna to her car, since she parked on the far end of the lot. Unsurprisingly, this kind gesture would inevitably lead to more conversation and jokes which kept them hours after the restaurant closed. And on their days off they spent much of their time playing video games together until the wee hours of the night. By the autumn of 2016, they had become nearly inseparable and completely smitten with one another.
It was a crisp November evening and Rhianna's birthday was rapidly approaching at the same time as Thanksgiving. Justin had devised a clever plan, since the two of them were expected to work the holiday together at the office. To ensure that her Thanksgiving birthday was not forgotten, he decided that they would stay the night at the hotel just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the place they first met. The Delta Hotel. Once they had settled into the room with some food, Justin excitedly reached for the presents he had wrapped for the occasion. He had hinted that although they were varying sizes of gifts, he was hopeful Rhianna would enjoy all of them. First, she opened a gift bag containing a set of DVDs from her favorite childhood television series: Boy Meets World. She was delighted! Next, she reached for the gift wrapped box, pulling out a nebula-covered Nintendo 3DS -- so they could play Animal Crossing together in style. She beamed with excitement. Finally, Justin said he had a very special present, but that it was kind of a big one so Rhianna would need to close her eyes. She did so, giggling excitedly. "You know you didn't have to do all this..." she protested. But Justin got down on one knee and asked her to open her eyes. As she did, he looked her in the eyes and asked as confidently as he could muster: "Rhianna, will you marry me?" Smiling wide, she nodded quietly and answered back: "Of course!" That's when Justin finally exhaled with relief, adding jokingly, "I don't know how I'll ever top that gift."
