"How'd you two meet?" "The old-fashioned way... online!" On September 11, 2021, Steven sent Sarah the best introductory message she'd ever received. But she didn't know it yet because Sarah had given up on dating. She was content to be single, live in her Daniel Island FROG, and maybe own a dog or two for the rest of her life. Ten days later, when the free version of Catholic Match would let her read Steven's message, she read his message and was instantly captivated! She replied to Steven on September 29, only to say "Thanks for your message! I'll reply in a few more days once I'm done with this church retreat!" Like a satellite that had been launched and finally returned a signal, Steven knew Sarah was out there and was interested. So he patiently waited. Steven courted Sarah over the next few weeks with many video chat dates. If you were to ask Sarah (and you would most definitely ask her), she knew she was in love with Steven the night of October 12, when Steven really opened up to her about his feelings, his past, and his hopes for the future. The two met for 9AM Mass on Friday, October 15th, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. They met early outside by the statue of Mary where Steven greeted Sarah with "Good morning, beautiful!" (his standard greeting for her). She instantly sprang up from the bench and the two embraced for what seemed like eternity. They had Mass together, went to The Marina Variety Store for brunch, and proceeded to have the last first-date either of them would ever have.
