The Wedding Venue

2715 N Lafayette Ave
Bremerton, WA 98312

The wedding will take place in our backyard on Phinney Bay Point. The property has close to a 270 degree view of Phinney Bay and Dyes Inlet on a hill about 100 ft above the water. In a nutshell, we are going for an elaborate backyard-BBQ-type event with live music, dancing, and games. There is a trail down to the beach which can be strolled at low tide, but you will want a less-nice pair of shoes for this. A note on parking: Being on the end of a peninsula, onsite parking is very limited. Using the driveway and a section of the yard for parking, we will have room for 10 to 12 cars at most, and these will probably need to stay reserved for people needing to come and go like close family and event staff. Much of what looks like street parking on Lafayette Ave are actually the 'driveways' of our neighbors, and many of them have signs indicating such. In short, we ask that you Uber/Lyft if possible, but be sure to double check your street parking spot for signs if you drive.

Hotel

Hampton Inn & Suites Bremerton

150 Washington Avenue
Bremerton, WA 98337
 (360) 405-0200

This will be 'the hotel' of the wedding, not that any events will take place there. The rehearsal dinner will be next door, and the hotel is steps away from the ferry terminal. This link will get you to the 'wedding rate' which is a 10% discount from the regular rate. As an alternative, the Fairfield Inn is two blocks north of the Hampton and is owned by the same company, so it is nearly as convenient a place to stay and an obvious place for overflow should the Hampton fill up. That said, there are many other hotels in the area along with a few nice AirBnBs. Folks with military base access should check on the Bremerton Navy Gateway Inn (easily the best value, but Uber/Lyft can't get on base). It is also totally realistic to stay in downtown Seattle and just walk onto the ferry for the wedding day (but remember the last ferry back to Seattle departs at 11:40pm)--this would be our first choice were the tables turned.

Hotel

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Bremerton

239 4th Street
Bremerton, WA 98337
 (360) 377-2111

This link is also for a 10% 'wedding discount'. The Fairfield is two blocks further from the ferry terminal than the Hampton but it's slightly less costly. Still super convenient location in downtown Bremerton and makes it possible to not need a rental car if you don't want to do any extra travel.

Train

Link Light Rail

Taking the Link Light Rail from the SeaTac airport to Seattle and then the ferry to Bremerton is the cheapest and easiest way to get to the closest hotels and/or within a 5 to 8 minute Uber/Lyft ride from the wedding. The closest stop to the Bremerton ferry terminal is Pioneer Square. If you are staying in Seattle, most of the hotels downtown are closest to either the Pioneer Square or University Street link stations.

Travel Note

Seattle-Bremerton Ferry

Even if you insist on renting a car, the ferry is still worth a ride for its own sake. The ride takes 1 hour and runs close to every hour from both Seattle and Bremerton--check the website for the schedule. The passenger deck is roomy and comfortable, offering splendid views of Puget Sound, and the galley serves beer, wine, coffee, and snacks. Coming from Seattle, the closest Link Light Rail stations to the ferry terminal are Pioneer Square or University Street, both of which are about 4 blocks away. The ferry terminal in Bremerton is downtown practically on the doorstep of the Hampton Inn and 2 blocks from the Fairfield. If you are staying in Seattle and riding over for the wedding, set your taxi/Uber/Lyft pickup from the ferry at Starbucks or the Hampton Inn.

Rental Car

Rental Cars

Renting a car isn't necessary for those travelling light and/or those not planning to do more traveling than to Seattle, Bremerton, and the wedding. If you do rent a car, the quickest route to Bremerton from the SeaTac airport takes about 1 hour by way of Tacoma; however, it is possible to drive onto the Seattle-Bremerton Ferry--this is a shorter driving distance and definitely more fun but would only be faster if there was heavy traffic or road closures in Tacoma.
