Flight
Really your only option is to fly into SAN. It’s super close to downtown where all the tourists frolic about. Unless you want to drive in. Then Google Maps is your friend.
Rental Car
They have all the cars. Alternatively, download the Turo app. It's like AirBnB but for cars (and like AirBnB can be much cheaper).
Hotel
NEAR DOWNTOWN Sheraton is now part of the Marriott brand. This hotel is a great choice if you want to get settled in quickly near all the downtown stuff. You could walk to it from baggage claim if you really wanted to though it's a lot of lanes of traffic to cross. It's also on Harbor Island which has some incredible views of downtown and some decent restaurants including Tom Ham's Lighthouse which is famous for their Sunday brunch seafood buffet (our personal favorite).
Hotel
NEAR DOWNTOWN This is a good place to stay if you want to be right smack dab in the middle of all the touristy stuff. Everything is walkable. And we do mean everything.
Hotel
NEAR DOWNTOWN The Hotel del Coronado, now part of the Hilton collection, is San Diego's most iconic hotel located on Coronado Island across the bay from downtown. It is huge. It is family friendly. It is not cheap. It may even be haunted. But it's the Hotel Del.
