From Woods Hole you can take the 45 minute ferry to Martha's Vineyard. We love Mad Martha's for ice cream and the oldest functioning carousel in the US, the Flying Horses
Beautiful place for sunsets. A rare spot to watch the sunset over the water on the east coast

BIKE THE SHINING SEA BIKEWAY Bring your bike or walking shoes and set out on the Shining Sea Bikeway (https://www.traillink.com/trail/shining-sea-bikeway/), a 10.6-mile multi-use path, established in 2009 on the bed of an old railway. From cranberry bogs to salt marshes, the bike path traverses a wide variety of Cape Cod landscapes. While this is a popular outdoor activity in Falmouth, MA the path is plenty wide enough for everyone. Get out and see the sights of Falmouth on foot or by bike with the Shining Sea Bikeway. This lighthouse was built in 1829 to mark the meeting of Vineyard and Nantucket Sounds and was originally powered with oil lamps. Today, the light is electric and maintained by the Friends of Nobska Light (https://friendsofnobska.org/) who, in a typical year, offer tours of the lighthouse. Sometimes the lighthouse is available for touring, and guests are still encouraged to visit the grounds for a look at this nearly-100-year-old navigational aid. The scenic tower and lighthouse are a great photo opp, as are the views of the water from the promontory on whic h the lighthouse sits.
Whale watching from Hyannis. The season is from Mid-April until October. We recommend https://whales.net for touring.
