Best Man
Even though our paths crossed earlier at Auburn, I met and became friends with Kyle during our third year. Kyle hails from Minnesota and currently lives outside of Sacramento working at a research center as a Laboratory Assistant III. He can be the life of the party and is in most of my best stories from my time at Auburn. He's the only guy that I can talk fluently with about subjects ranging from WU-Tang Clan to He-Man to football and finally to big life decisions (most importantly). Look for Kyle making a fool of himself on the dance floor at our reception, and if you're lucky enough to meet him then you'll truly get to meet one of the best of men.
Maid of Honor
I met Aly when I was in first grade - she cried a lot. Seven years my junior, I've always had a sidekick in her. You change schools, hobbies, friend groups, but, change after change, my sister has always been there for me, and I am excited to have her by my side on my big day. The same year that I left for college, Aly was also moving - to pursue her dreams at age 12 to become a figure skater.
Groomsman
I met Richard during move-in day of college, and it turned out that his dorm room was only doors away from mine. We instantly become friends. Most of our inside jokes come from that first fun year at Auburn, and that friendship led to us living together for the next four years at Auburn (only one year short of being common law married!). Being friends for all of college, we knew each other through good times and bad, always knowing that one would drop everything on a dime if the other needed the consolatory Chinese food takeout. Richard is from Rome, Georgia and now lives in Cincinnati working as a computer programmer. He's required to perform a pin-drop on the dance floor at the reception so he better be prepared!
Bridesmaid
I met Kelly through Jake at the guys' apartment in Auburn one Sunday night, where we'd all get together to watch our favorite shows at the time: The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Often finding my friend groups more made up of men, I was suspicious of this Kelly person when she first showed up in my life. But luckily I didn't write her off, as she is one of the most kind-hearted and truly great people I've ever known. She is even engaged to one of my best friends since middle school, Stephen! We got to visit Auburn in May to see Kelly Whippo become Dr. Whippo, DVM, and we couldn't be more proud of her. Hold off your vet questions at the reception, I need her to stay available for dancing and singing to cheesy Disney songs.
Groomsman
I also met Ryan in my third year at Auburn, when he was roommates with Kyle. Ryan is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and he now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee working as a Territory Sales Manager. A summer 8:00am class, Spongebob-watching carpool made up of Emily, myself, and Ryan really bonded us together as a group, and Emily and Ryan also worked together as waiters, always supplying crazy stories. Ryan introduced me to the wonderful world of disc golf, and we got plenty of practice on those lazy Auburn summer afternoons.
Bridesmaid
I had met Katy once or twice, as she would be visiting Jake at Auburn, but I really didn't get to know her until she stayed at my apartment for a week one summer. That was pretty much all it took for us to realize how easily we got along with one another and that we had similar tastes in music, food, and fun (primarily via bugging Jake)! Katy lives and plays Birmingham, AL with her new husband Andrew, and she works as a Credit Portfolio Manager at Regions Bank where Papa Rada works just one floor away. Katy enjoys climbing, backpacking, and traveling internationally.
