One of our favorite spots to meet for drinks with friends! Also, a beautiful hotel at the center of Inglewood in East. They have a wine bar inside the lobby of the hotel and outside they have unique cocktails at their public house. It's a beautiful renovation of house from the 1800's with a Southwestern twist. It's a great spot to lose track of time and conversation by a campfire!
This is one of my (Michelle's) favorite lunch spots! If I'm meeting a new friend or catching up with an old friend, it is probably here! The first time I heard of Thistle Farms is when I went with my friend (then roommate/ now bridesmaid) Sammi after she heard about it in one of her classes. And she now works there in their marketing department, which is so cool to celebrate and see the full story of! Thistle Farms is a non profit that provides a safe space for women survivors caught in trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. They have safe houses all over the US and also provide work for women in making candles, oils, and other goods for their store. Nashville is their home base and the cafe at Thistle Farms is a beautiful space for interaction with the community and with the story of the organization. I cannot recommend this mission more and the food is also just great! Really yummy brunch selection, solid sandwiches, and amazing tea selection.
Our first date spot! This is a cool place to go and see some incredible art across a lot of different time periods. In November there are a few different exhibits being shown at the Frist, including one on the art of civic design in Nashville and the photography of Paul McCartney!
A tradition of our life in Nashville is Mule Monday, which is the $5 special on Monday nights at the Village Pub. There is plenty of ginger beer to go around mixed with basically anything from vodka to bourbon. Most of Mondays we meet here, but sometimes we switch to another bar is our numbers get too strong. A really great spot for a group of around 8 people or less!
My (Michelle's) favorite taco spot in town! Where else is there Dr. Pepper hot sauce or a taco with whipped feta and a poblano pepper? Their tortillas are house made and delicious, as is their margarita with amaretto! It also has a laid back, casual feel with pictures of Willie Nelson on the wall and with self made cartoon table numbers/characters.
Tucked away in the the Lockeland neighborhood of East Nashville, this restaurant is a great place for drinks and food alike! They have a community hour from 5-6 every day that offers a discounted menu from which they donate a portion of the revenue to the community here in East! They have killer pizza and small plates as well as great and creative cocktails!
A great neighborhood spot where you can get Japanese comfort food like curry, udon, and ramen! This restaurant has been nominated for a James Beard award and has been featured in various publications like Food & Wine and Bon Appétit Magazines. Connor's previous place of work before he stepped into a role at the church this summer.
