Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us!

Brian Boughton

Best Man

Brian is one of the most charismatic people I have ever known. We met as pledge brothers in Kappa Sig, where shared senses of humor, a like-minded cynicism of “the system”, and tiny amounts of debauchery combined to build a lifelong friendship. He’s the reliable friend you want in your corner when you need moral support, while also being the fun one who can take a stupid subject like favorite-discontinued-Taco-Bell-item and turn it into a fierce two-hour debate. Between the craziness of years spent as roommates, concerts and river-floats, bizarre inside jokes, and even just vibing out with beers and video games, some of my goofiest and favorite memories are with this guy. I can think of no one better to have by my side on the most important day of my life.

Trae Vanaskey

Groomsman

I don’t know if I believe in the concept of music-soulmates, but if I have one, his name is David Allen Vanaskey III. Trae and I met in 6th grade after I moved to a new middle school, and we immediately hit it off as two math nerds talking about riveting subjects like balancing chemical equations and the Sparknotes version of To Kill A Mockingbird. Don’t worry, we played sports too (and we were good at them, I swear!) From helping each other discover some of our favorite songs, to staying up way too late playing Rock Band, to quoting “slappin’ da bass man” a billion times, Trae was the best friend this pop-punk high schooler could have had, and I’m so glad we’ve stayed friends into adulthood so he can be there on the big day.

Chris Schulz

Groomsman

Everyone needs that “ask for forgiveness, not permission” friend, and Chris is mine. We were neighbors growing up with tons of land, and somehow always found a way to stumble into a new stupid adventure in the middle of the woods with our siblings, whether it was flipping four-wheelers, building snow forts, playing flashlight tag, or learning that boomerangs fly back at you really, really fast (maybe I should have emphasized stupid earlier). But I wouldn’t trade our shenanigans from pre-teens to today for anything. Chris recently found his calling as a nurse, and maybe it’s the pseudo-older-brother in me, but I couldn’t be prouder of everything he’s accomplished.

Danny Marks

Groomsman

The life of the party himself. It was never a question for me if Danny – another one of my pledge brothers and roommates – would be standing by my side at the wedding, it was whether or not I’d be able to keep him out of the DJ booth on the big day. He’s one of those people who just pumps energy into the room when he walks in, and more importantly, he’s one of the only people whose stances on music, society, and creative FIFA-themed-insults I value above my own. Every crawfish boil, brewery-hopping-day, and fantasy football league we do together is more fun because he’s in it; and what more can you really ask out of a friend than that?

Tom Foxx

Groomsman

Tom Foxx (Tom #1 or Tom #2, depending on who you ask) is an exceptional human being. To this day I don’t know how he pulls off being the funniest guy in the room while looking the most stoic all the time. Tom and I met in 9th grade after he switched to my school and we hit it off instantly through our love of baseball, dogs, and the rough 2008 concept of what we today call “memes”. Some of my favorite memories with him involve dumb stuff like a golf cart and a broken pickle jar, but also want to say I’m so proud of him as an accomplished member of the US Air Force, stationed in the UK with his wife Julia (thank you).

Tom Hall

Groomsman

You know that meme format with nine squares filled with examples of “Lawful Neutral” and “Chaotic Evil”? Tom Hall is the living embodiment of the “Chaotic Good” box. We met in 7th grade and connected very quickly via a shared love of Lonely Island lyrics which, unfortunately, only grew with time. Our years of playing soccer together helped form a friendship that I’m so glad still exists today, because there is no one whose absurdist-style humor and dumb inside jokes about Rhinos and the sacred #7 I appreciate more. Tom is also a very successful civil engineer and married to his wife Julia (yes, just like the other Tom and the other Julia).

Connor Geear

Groomsman

Connor is the most dependable guy I know. We met freshman year at GMU, and honestly, I think we surprised each other by how well we got along because we were such different people. But throughout college, every TV show we watched and every game we each played (mainly Super Strikers) had 100% overlap; every senseless joke got funnier and funnier; and every beach trip got more exciting when I had Connor as my right-hand-man. I can ask anything of him and I know he’ll deliver. A few years ago, he called me to say that he had started putting me down as his emergency contact on medical forms, and if that’s not true friendship, I don’t want to know what is. He’s definitely a top 10 Texan I’ve ever met.
