Chelsea and Ray met in their senior year at George Mason University through mutual friends (at a Top Golf of all places). Ray was drawn to Chelsea’s warm smile and passionate personality, while Chels just really liked Ray’s hair. After a few casual dates, they quickly realized they had a unique and special connection, bonding over everything from travel and bar-crawls to movie nights and corny Dad jokes. Not even a Ravens/Steelers rivalry could tear them apart! As their paths diverged after college with new jobs resulting in a long-distance relationship, they stayed the course from Texas to Virginia, growing both individually and as a couple with their successful careers, unique hobbies, and unending enjoyment of each other’s presence. They eventually moved into their first apartment together in DC, becoming connoisseurs of the restaurant, biking, rooftop, and kickball scene (in no particular order). They traveled around the world from Seattle to Paris, Denver to the Carribbean, Orlando to Chicago, and even Austin and Dublin. They built mutual friendships, endured hardships, and cultivated a love that kept their relationship strong through everything. They went on to move to San Diego, California (a life-long dream of theirs) in mid-2020 and even bought their first home together (you know, a smart financial decision for an unmarried couple). As they approached their anniversary in December 2020, Ray knew it was time to ask Chelsea to marry him. He planned a big day of surprises, from a scenic helicopter ride to a whirlwind brunch, all culminating with a photoshoot at Sunset Cliffs during golden hour. With the Pacific Ocean as their backdrop, Ray dropped to one knee as Chelsea gave a joyful “Yes!” to spending the rest of their lives together. The rest is history. And they would be remiss if they didn’t mention the focal point of their lives since early 2021 – a wonderful black-lab/border-collie puppy named Maya! That’s our story! We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you at our wedding.
