How we met (Sarah's version)

Long story longer: Ram and I met on a blind date. I was living in Arizona, and he was new to the area, so we were introduced through a “mutual friend”. We decided to give the first date a go, and although it wasn’t entirely a train wreck, neither of us experienced the fireworks we were expecting, so we weren’t exactly mapping out our futures together. In fact, we had another date on the books, but I stood him up and ghosted him pretty hard after that. A couple weeks went by, and for some reason, I couldn’t get him off my mind, so I reached out and he agreed to give me another shot. On our second date, he took me to a hole-in-the-wall, crappy little Italian restaurant near his apartment, and he was 30 minutes late #karma. I was about to call it a night, but I drove 40 miles and put on a full face of makeup, so I wasn’t about to waste the evening. I convinced him to come with me to a bar for some live music, and to both our surprise, we spent the entire evening outside talking – it was the magic we were both looking for. Then he kissed me, and that did it, I knew from that moment that I had to have this man in my life. Fast Forward- After a few months of dating, Ram had to relocate for work, and I was faced with the decision: move with him? Or stay in AZ and give long distance a try? Well, long distance relationships suck, and neither of us were willing to give up on our great love, so we moved to the east coast as a family: me, him, our dog, and 2 cats. The transition to Maryland wasn’t easy for me, as I’ve never lived that far away from home, but Ram made a promise to my family that he would take care of me, and he did exactly that. After about a year of east coast living, on my 33rd birthday, surrounded by our family and loved ones, Ram got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It’s crazy to think we went from “new phone, who dis?” to “Mr. & Mrs. Sreeramamoorthy”, but here we are, and we can’t wait to celebrate our happily ever after with all of you.

How we met (Ram's Version)

We like each other, we're getting married, you're invited.
