We love the Troy Farmer's market! You can find almost anything you're looking for from farm fresh veggies, eggs and dairy to grass fed beef and free range chicken! There are plenty of apothecary vendors and prepared food items too!
Nothing like the Niagara Falls but beautiful just the same, the Cohoes Falls! There's a great little walking/bike path and park to view these from. Check it out!
The New York State Museum has an amazing 9/11 exhibit that if you have time to check out, you should!
Our, hands-down favorite place to eat you ask? Peck's Arcade. Vegetarian focused dishes to share. Slightly larger than tapas. Meat lovers, don't fear, there's still meat, but you won't need it! Try the mushrooms, they're the only thing on the menu that doesn't change. Go hungry and make sure to get dessert. We're drooling....
Lucas Confectionary is not only the place where we had our FIRST date but also a really cool wine bar with an awesome court yard. Charcuterie only, except for the occasional mind blowing grilled cheese, you won't be disappointed with the local cheeses and meats :)
Rare Form Brewery stole our hearts when we first started looking into growing grain for breweries and distilleries. They are a Farm Brewery, sourcing the majority of their ingredients from New York Farms. They use some of our specialty grains in their mash but we love all their brews! Careful though, their beers will knock you off your seats!
For phenomenal boutique apparel and home goods shopping, take a trip up to Saratoga Springs! Broadway is the place to be with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants lining the street!
The Yaddo Gardens is a favorite for locals and tourists! Currently dedicated to the arts, the Yaddo gardens are open for public walking and viewing pleasure. Some of the most beautiful fountains and roses around!
The official 2018 racing meet doesn't start until late July, but all the horses are here training for opening day! One of our favorite things to do is grab a Stewart's iced coffee and head over to the Oklahoma Training Track to watch the babies breeze in the morning. You have full access to the grounds and can wander around the barns looking at the fancy thoroughbreds! Highly recommended. Get there before 10 a.m.
If you're a history buff, stop by Sarational National Historical Park and Battlefield! It's the site of the Battle of Saratoga during the Revolutionary War, often referred to as the Turning Point of the war. Get a $5 pass and drive the one way toll road or hike the park. Either way, stop at the land marks to learn more about how we earned our independence!
