sean and rachel met over a web app called Bumble. they both swiped right and matched. rachel reached out first. her profile specified - must be willing to travel to Buffalo up to 6x per year - her best friend lives there. that apparently worked for him ;-) their first date was at a place called Lucas Confectionary. conversation was wildly out of control and about two hours later they had consumed enough wine to both order what must have been the biggest, fattiest grilled cheese of their lives. they both finished their sandwiches, no shame. for their first christmas, rachel gifted sean with two kittens named christmas carole and jack frost, one of many practical jokes. carole turned out to be a carl. whoops. he got her five ornaments symbolizing their first five dates. cutest. guy. ever.

about 6 months into their relationship, sean and rachel were in her truck when she heard the song You are the Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne and blurted out, "this is going to be our first dance song at our wedding!" awkward. approximately 6 months after that, he surprised her with tickets to see ray lamontagne at the troy music hall! But after a 2.5 hour set, Ray didn't even play the song!! rachel was convinced this was NOT the song and spent the whole ride home hating on ray! meanwhile, sean had the song on repeat :) when sean turned on to their street, rachel knew something was up. it was close to halloween, and although rachel loves a good horror story, she was terrified to find sean pulling over in the cemetery by their house to hand her a blind fold! “put this on,” he said with no explanation. he pulled into the driveway and escorted her out of the jeep in pouring rain to their horse barn. he took the blind fold off and to rachel’s surprise, the whole barn was lit up with twinkle lights and sprinkled in rose petals! after proclaiming his love to her, he got on one knee and popped the question! jumping for joy, she accepted instantly! they popped champagne and enjoyed heart shaped pastries in the company of their horses! cutest.guy.ever.
