Things To Do

We have listed some of our favorite places to explore in Seattle (where we live), Leavenworth (where the wedding is), and other parts of Washington. If you want other recommendations, please reach out to us!

Leavenworth

We chose Leavenworth because it is one of our favorite places. There is plenty to do here, both inside and outside. Some of our favorites are below. Take a stroll through downtown to visit the many shops and restaurants. Icicle Brewing, Blewett Brewing & Pizza Company, The Hat Shop, and Watershed (restaurant) are some of our go-tos. If you have some extra time and you're interested in the outdoors, Wenatchee State Park, Icicle Gorge, 4th of July Creek, and Colchuck Lake are all hikes in the area we love. Colchuck and 4th of July are quite long, so be prepared for a lot of hiking. They're worth it, though.

Exploring and Hiking

Washington has three National Parks. North Cascades, Olympic National Park, and Mount Rainier. All of them have amazing hiking and would be worth a stop. In addition to these parks, there are so many other hiking, camping, and outdoor opportunities here. The Washington Trails Association is the best place to look for hikes--or you can ask us and we will share our favorites!

Seattle area

Seattle has so much to offer! Head to Ballard to check out the breweries (Stoup is our favorite), see the salmon at the Ballard Locks, or catch sunset at Golden Gardens park on the beach. Discovery Park has a lot of accessible hiking right in the city. Some of our other favorite spots are Museum of Pop Culture, the Klondike Gold Rush Museum, Pike Place Market, or even the main Central branch of The Seattle Public Library downtown.

Wedgwood Neighborhood (Seattle)

This is where we live! If you'll be coming through, we'd love to say hi. Here are our favorite places in the neighborhood: Matthews Beach Park for swimming and walking trails, Wedgwood Ale House for the best fish n chips in town (and also to reenact our 2nd date), Van Gogh Coffee House, or Fiddler's Inn. Close to our neighborhood, some of our favorite places are: Ravenna Brewing, Hellbent Brewing, The Maple (restaurant and bar), and Magnuson Park.

Capitol Hill neighborhood (Seattle)

Check out the Capitol Hill neighborhood, where we lived together for years! Some of our favorite places: Outer Planet Brewing, Joe Bar (for coffee), Volunteer Park, Porchlight Coffee & Records, Glow's diner, Lost Lake diner, or Pie Bar.
