Around 10 years ago, we met on a fateful night out in Davis, CA. At the time Rachel thought "her type" were tall basketball players, so naturally she wanted to meet the tall guy in the basketball shorts. Turns out Gabe's just into comfortable clothing...he still has those shorts. We both weren't planning on going out that night, but are so glad the universe had other plans for us!

Last year Gabe planned a surprise weekend for Rachel's birthday/valentine's day up the coast at Costanoa. We spent the evening walking the grounds, enjoying the sunset and went to dinner. We spoke about going for a night walk, which Gabe often wants to do and Rachel doesn't, and this time since it was a special weekend Rachel agreed. We drove down the coast and found a trail, it was cold but the moon lit the way. Rachel almost turned around...but Gabe encouraged us to keep going. At the end the trail opened to the coast, waves glittering in the moonlight as they crashed. Gabe jokingly asked if this would be a good place to propose, Rachel laughed and said duh. And then he did. We cried and talked for a long time. It was perfect. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Santa Cruz!
