How Did We Meet?

Jane and Chance met in March of 2023 at the end of the most epic winter in the Eastern Sierra. Chance moved to the area from Tahoe for the snow, and Jane moved to the area from New York for the rocks. The Hinge algorithm gods were kind to them, they matched for a dinner in the dining mecca of Bishop. According to Chance, "I don't think she liked me much," and according to Jane, "It was the worst date I've ever had." When you hit rock bottom, the only way is to go up! Why the Dolomites?

Answer

Jane and Chance both love the mountains as a place to live and a place to explore. In September 2024, Jane had a freak accident in Venice where she almost lost her leg. She was treated in a hospital where Chance's great-grandmother was their first registered nurse! Instead of climbing, they took two weeks to explore the area with easy walks, hikes and many dinners.
