Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sarah Printy and Brian Jones
Near our venue, there is so much to do and enjoy! Here are just a few of our favorite things to do and see while you are visiting the West Coast.

Drive the Famous Highway 1

California 1, Big Sur, CA

To come to Big Sur and not drive the 1 is a travesty! Highway 1 hugs the California coastline and is a winding scenic drive that is certainly a bucket list item. Stop along the way for hiking, redwood forests, unique shops, and scenic views. From Ragged Point, just take Highway 1 North all the way up to Carmel-By-The-Sea, and Monterey.

Elephant Seal Vista Point

San Simeon, CA 93452
, (805) 924-1628

The Elephant Seal Rookery is the best location to view the massive and unique creatures that can only be found in Big Sur.

Hearst Castle

San Simeon, CA 93452

Historic Hearst Castle is a beautiful mansion nestled in the hills of Big Sur.

Paso Robles

Paso Robles, CA 93446

The original "wild west", Paso has become a premier destination for wine enthusiasts alike. With hundreds of wineries to choose from, you will always find something you like! Additionally, there is a super cool light installation called Sensorio. Would not miss it!

Monterey

Monterey, CA

Monterey is sometimes considered the “top” of Big Sur, there is so much to see and do here! Check out Monterey Bay Aquarium, peep the sea otters, drive the 17 Mile Drive, tee off at the famous Pebble Beach golf course.

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park

47225 California 1, Big Sur, CA 93920
, (831) 667-1112

If you are on the hunt to see the famous California Redwoods, go no further than Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park!

Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park

52801 California 1, Big Sur, CA 93920
, (831) 667-1112

To see the infamous McWay Falls, which spills its waters onto the beach and the Pacific Ocean, this is your place to see it. Much of this park has been closed due to recent fires and trails are still be reconstructed, but McWay Falls is a must see location on your drive up the 1.

Hiking

There are a number of trails near Ragged Point Inn and all along the coast line. The link will take you to all of our favorites, both near and far.

For all the days along the way
