What should be expected with respect to weather conditions?

Answer

Weather on the coast at this time of year can sometimes be somewhat unpredictable, as it is also the beginning of the rainy season. Please to be outside for the welcome party, ceremony, and cocktail hour, and expect temperatures ranging from the upper 40's in the evenings, to 60s in the day time. It can get windy on the coastal cliffs, so a jacket is recommended. We are a go rain, shine, or fog, so plan accordingly!

How’s the cell service/wifi?

Answer

Cell service at Ragged Point is notoriously bad, as well as throughout the rest of Big Sur. Ragged Point does offer wifi on property, however may struggle on bandwidth and availability. If you need to check for cell service, take a coastal drive 20 min south to San Simeon! Take this as an opportunity to disconnect from the world and reconnect with friends and family!

What should we plan to wear?

Answer

The welcome party and brunch will be very casual, and you can wear whatever you are most comfortable in. For the ceremony and cocktail hour, ladies, we will be in the grass entirely, so plan to wear chunky heels or flats so you do not sink into the ground :) Men, suits or shirts and ties are fine! Plan for a little bit of a chill with a shawl/jacket/etc.

Where is Ragged Point?

Answer

Ragged Point Inn is a remote location perched atop the cliffs on the Pacific Ocean. It may seem like a challenge to get there, but its worth the somewhat lengthy drive! We would recommend spending at least 2 days at Ragged Point (Friday 11/4 and Saturday 11/5) and spending some time after or before to enjoy the area. Can I stay at another hotel?

Answer

For the weekend of the wedding, we would really love to have everyone staying at the venue itself. Due to the remote location and the windy 2 lane road to Ragged Point, we strongly encourage all guests to stay at Ragged Point for Friday and Saturday night. We would feel much better if people were not traveling to and from a much further location on Highway 1 at night. We want everyone to enjoy their time, safely!

Can I bring my kids?

We love your kids, but with such a small venue, we would love to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, surrounded by our closest family and friends!
