Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Pamela's Diner

A Pittsburgh breakfast staple located in Oakland, and walking distance from The Oaklander Hotel, Autograph Collection and Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center.

Strip District

Pittsburgh, PA

Walk the strip and explore all the shops, local food markets, restaurants, and bars. On 21st Street, make sure to grab a coffee from La Prima Espresso Company, and a pastry next door at Colangelo's. Also be sure to check out, "Penn Mac," Pennsylvania Macaroni Co., for authentic Italian produce, and Enrico Biscotti Co., for the most fabulous traditional Italian pastries!

Duquesne Incline

Take a step back in time on a century-old cable car and see the best views of downtown Pittsburgh while riding one of the few remaining inclines in the country. Opened on May 20, 1877, the Duquesne Incline still delights residents and visitors with its original, elegant, wooden cable cars. The Duquesne Incline's upper station houses a museum of Pittsburgh history, including photos and a storehouse of information on inclines from around the world.

Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar

Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is a Pittsburgh staple that's known for its iconic sandwiches. Established in Pittsburgh's Strip District in 1933, it is a Pittsburgh institution, famous for inventing the sandwich that places fries and coleslaw inside the sandwich itself! You can find Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar locations all throughout the city.

Market Square

Located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, Market Square is a must-see for tourists and locals alike. Market Square is surrounded by shops and restaurants and boasts year-round activities in the center of the space. Lucky you- Market Square is under construction at the moment, which will be completed by the time of our wedding!

Point State Park

Take a walk to Point State Park's iconic fountain! Fun fact, the fountain is undergoing major upgrade work in 2025, and will be completed just in time for our wedding weekend as well!

Walnut Street

Walnut Street, Pittsburgh, PA

The most popular shopping and dining district in the Shadyside neighborhood, a quick drive from both of our hotel options, belongs to Walnut Street. The three blocks at the southwest end of the street is the heart of all the action. You have a good mix of Pittsburgh classics like Pamela’s Diner, local gems like Kards Unlimited, as well as big retail chains like Lululemon and Apple. No matter where you end up on this street, you will not be disappointed by the atmosphere and the dynamic community.

Casbah
