We first crossed paths through mutual friends while I was in my second year of veterinary school at UC Davis. I'd heard whispers about “Jonny—the wine guy,” the guy behind the legendary stash of free Bogle wine. Naturally, I was curious. One day, I found myself at a friend’s house where I finally met him in person—and the moment I saw him, I immediately texted our group asking why no one had told me that Jonny the wine guy was not only cute, but also our age. Not long after, Jonny and I connected on a dating app—and true to his style, he wasted no time asking me out. Our first date (fall of 2020) was something straight out of a dream: Jonny orchestrated a charming, romantic picnic in the UC Davis Arboretum, complete with homemade bread, cheese, fruit, and two carefully selected wines to pair with it all. We sat by the pond, chatting for hours, watching ducks float by. Everything felt so easy and comfortable that I found myself wondering if we could even call this a first date—it was nothing like the anxious, overthought dates of my past. What followed were countless adventures—each more exciting than the last. That winter, we found a shared love for snowsports and became loyal Ikon pass holders, carving our way down the slopes at Sierra at Tahoe and Palisades(our venue- eek!). Our travels took us across the world: snowboarding in Switzerland with a view of the majestic Matterhorn, staying in an ocean-side treehouse in Costa Rica, hiking a volcano in Guatemala with our best friends, and even getting engaged on the stunning French Riviera. We’ve shared quiet moments and extreme challenges—backpacking in sub-zero snow and summiting Half Dome with the cables down. We spent a year in Florida for my rotating internship, where we devoured endless clams and mussels and spent sunny days paddleboarding with manatees. Whether we’re exploring new sights, sampling delicious food, or simply enjoying each other's company, every day with Jonny feels like a new adventure. Our journey together has been full of twists and turns, and we considered many options for our wedding—destination weddings, mountain elopements—but in the end, we realized that you (yes, you reading this!) are the most important part of our story. We can’t wait to share this special day with our beloved friends and family, who are coming from all corners of the world: from California, Florida, Utah, New York, and beyond, including our international guests from India, Australia, and Canada.
