We're Getting Married!

After Emma moved home from college, she began attending her home church again, where Nate had recently started going. He had attended groups there as a kid, but their paths never crossed. He made a habit to say hi to her every Sunday until he finally asked for her number. That same day, he was invited to lunch with her family, not realizing Emma had another commitment, so his first "date" was with her parents, as they like to joke. To their surprise, a few months into dating, they realized they had actually sat next to each other at a church group in 2022. It turns out their story started long before either of them knew it.

Shortly after, Nate asked Emma to an outing at the Village of East Davenport. They spent the afternoon walking along the Mississippi riverfront, talking and laughing like they had known each other for years. Afterwards, they stopped by Here's the Scoop for ice cream and sat on the benches chatting for hours. By the time they said goodbye, it was clear this was the start of something special.

Fast forward to April, where the best surprise awaited them. Nate had planned a special moment along the river, but a change of plans led them to take a walk at Wildcat Den instead. Somehow, Emma didn't notice the oddly shaped box in Nate's pocket during the hike. At the top of the bluffs, as she sat taking in the view, she turned to see Nate on one knee. She was speechless. Of course, she said yes, and in that moment, it felt like the start of forever.
