The eldest child of Drs. Joseph and Prudence Takougang and sister to Theo, Veronica, Queenie. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Pokam is a graduate from THE Fisk University in 2007, The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics in 2015, and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) in 2016 from the Northwest Dental Residency Program. Pokam is passionate about being able to help her patients one smile at a time. She is currently practicing general dentistry in a small city just south of Dayton, Ohio. Pokam enjoys sleep, cooking, reading (sometimes for fun, sometimes nerdy dental stuff, lol), and traveling.

The eldest child of Dr. Emmanuel and Justine Ngomsi, and brother to Arnaud, Bertaud, Nadege, and Vinciane. A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Doug is a 2005 graduate of the University of Missouri, where he studied International Business and International Studies. He later earned his Executive MBA from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 2012. Doug is passionate about community betterment and spends several hours each week mentoring young men and serving on the board of KC's High Aspirations, Inc. organization. Doug is currently a senior manager at Deloitte Consulting, LLP. He enjoys playing competitive soccer for 3 teams, working on entrepreneurial pursuits, traveling, listening to music with lots of bass, and thinking up creative ways to keep Pokam guessing...

Pokam is my lovely older sister whom I’ve known and loved for my 30 years of life. She’s been a tremendous influence and an example of hard work, perseverance, and love. Pokam and I met at summer camp in 1994. We lived down the street from each other. During our 25 years of friendship, we've experienced and witnessed personal milestones. We've always connected with each other no matter where have been in the country and have become travel and concert buddies. As proud members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. we share this special bond. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, I currently reside in Dallas, Texas working as a psychologist at a university counseling center. I love going to cultural events/museums, trying new restaurants, and interior design. My parents have been married for 50+ years so I recognize the dedication and commitment necessary for a healthy marriage. I'm honored to be part of Pokam and Doug’s big day. I wish them many years of happiness.

Veronica (Princess) Takougang

I came to know Pokam not by choice, but truly by the fortunate decision of my mother and father to have another child 11 years after Pokam was born. Our age gap, however, never kept us apart. I am an alumna of The Ohio State University and I am currently at Case Western Reverse University getting my M.S. in Medical Physiology. Since high school I have always had an interest in fitness, politics, and learning more about the world whether it be through food, books, podcasts, or traveling. Unofficially known as Pokam’s shadow, I am excited to follow my sister through another phase of her life, and in the process am eager to welcome Doug into our family!

August 2003: Pokam and I began our journey at THE Fisk University in Nashville, TN. Nervous and excited we leaned on each other to not “break the chain”. Our bond grew stronger when we pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Always pushing and motivating her girLS to be and do better, she has managed to counsel, cheer, and support her line sisters in our personal journeys. So it's without question that I am ready to stand by her side in celebration of this beautiful union! Dr. Tamika Wordlow Williams is a native of Little Rock, AR. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students at Rhode Island College. She obtained her BA from Fisk University; MPA from the University of Arkansas; Ed.D. from East Carolina University. She enjoys reading, knitting, and wine tastings.

Dr. Katrina Mosley

Dr. Katrina Mosley is a general dentist from the Chicagoland area who enjoys cooking, listening to music, and making up/laughing at corny jokes. Pokam and I met in dental school. We lived in the same building as well. Our friendship was solidified at our first year welcome picnic when a classmate walked up to us and said, ‘Hey Mosley and Pokam, two peanuts were walking down the street...one was “a salted”...get it?’. Pokam and I looked at each other and just cracked up for like an hour! I knew then that our friendship would be long-lasting! I’m so excited to participate in this special day. She is so driven, smart, and is an all-around beautiful person. I know that she will make a wonderful wife! I pray that God blesses this union beyond all imagination! Congratulations Pokam and Doug!

Bianca Matlock

Bianca, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, came to know Pokam while attending THE Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Their friendship and bond grew stronger and closer as they became members of the great Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This bond and friendship has now lasted for 14 years. Bianca currently resides in Houston, Texas where she serves as the Director of Financial Aid and Operations for one of the largest community colleges in the area. "I am happy for both Pokie (as I affectionately call her) and Doug on their union and wish them both many, many years of happiness and success in their marriage."

Vinciane Ngomsi

Vinciane Ngomsi is one of Doug's younger twin sisters. She's a sports and lifestyle journalist based in Washington, DC. Vinciane knows Pokam well, through Doug. Vinciane first heard of Pokam when Doug would send her screenshots of their mutual affinity for Gucci Mane. Needless to say, her brother's future wife is just as much a fan of the Brick Squad Boss as he is. Instantly, Vinciane knew that was not only a lifelong bond created, but also Pokam would mesh well with the close-knit "Ngomsi 5". Vinciane had to wait 29 years to finally get an older sister, but it was well worth it!

Nadege Ngomsi

Nadège Ngomsi is the sister of the groom, Douglas. She met Pokam through her brother, Doug while bonding over the Avengers and other Marvel films. As a lover of hugs, Nadège knew Pokam was a keeper when upon meeting her, Pokam gave her one of the heartiest hugs she'd ever received. Nadège currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri as a graduate student studying Business and as a writer. She has a twin sister, Vinciane, who is also a writer.

Arnaud Ngomsi

Best Man

Arnaud is a biochemist who has worked in various labs. He resides in Kansas City, coaches and referees soccer, and enjoys reading scientific journals, sports, eating, and traveling. I first met Doug after I came out of our mother's womb. As his younger brother, Doug introduced me to a lot: playing in a drum-line, karate, band, Mortal Kombat, and X-Men. He also put me on Gucci Mane, chopped-n-screwed music, Greek Life (though I never got to pledge). But more importantly, Doug also showed the importance of leading by example, having a creative mind and great work ethic, and staying out of trouble and out of handcuffs. It is no wonder he drew the attention of a certain classy woman: Pokam. I am beyond blessed and humbled to take part in the celebration of the next phase of their lives.

Mark Haynes

Mark is a St. Louis native and is an attorney for Boeing. He also serves as a part time Judge Advocate General (JAG) Major in the Air Force Reserves and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, MBA from Washington University (St. Louis), and a Masters from Cornell University. Doug and I met while undergrads at Mizzou. We were the only 2 black men on our dorm floor AND in Marching band. We bonded over music, intramural soccer, and "free downloads" (bootlegged lol) of music and films. Doug is one of the most genuine persons I have ever known, has always been easy to talk to and will often leave you with food for thought. Pokam is getting the best of the best with Doug....such a thoughtful, caring, and intelligent human being. I am proud to share this day with him.

Terrell "TJ" Jolly

TJ is a plant manager and entrepreneur with a Bachelor’s in Communications & PR from Alabama State University (Montgomery, AL) and an MBA from the University of Phoenix (Kansas City). He is a founder and general partner in various real estate firms, including 2 he co-owns with Doug. Doug and I met when I first moved to KC in 2009. My homie put me right to work as the Executive Secretary of the United Methodist Men. Through that experience we formed an unbreakable bond not only as solid friends but business partners. Doug has affected my life in so many positive ways from putting me in a position to meet my wife to showing me how to depreciate my shoes by day! (Inside joke) Blessings to Doug and Pokam! Jay'mon "Jay" Lars is a recent graduate from Southeast High School in Kansas City (class of 2019!) and is a National Honor Society member. His hobbies include sports, working out, and music. Jay will be joining the U.S. Army after high school. I'm 18 and have known Mr. Doug for about 6 years. I joined the High Aspirations program in KC in 2013 and Doug was assigned as my mentor, and I have been stuck with him ever since. He helped me grow from the bottom of the scratch pile to where I'm standing proud and strong now. I want to say it's an honor for him to change my life around.

Dr. Fredrick Manasseh

Dr. Manasseh is a board-certified healthcare executive, entrepreneur and independent consultant who enjoys traveling, working out and listening to music. Doug and I met in 2010 in our Executive MBA program. Our friendship began on demanding projects and quickly solidified when we realized that we also had several things in common including fine wine. As our passion for wine grew we started a tradition by hosting several wine tasting events for colleagues. Over the years we have continued building our friendship by exploring investment and entrepreneurial ventures. Doug is one of the most disciplined, smart and hardworking people I know, and I am very humbled to participate in the celebration of his union with Pokam. Bertaud Ngomsi

Bertaud is a Product Manager with an emphasis in Education Technology ("Ed-Tech") and a Consultant helping businesses create market-viable products that also delight customers. He graduated from Alabama A&M and is an avid tennis player, gamer, superhero enthusiast and world record holder for watching Black Panther the most times. Growing up, Doug has always served as a north star in the family on how we should act, what we should aspire to, and how to be driven in a world of adversity. I've always looked up to him and he has never disappointed. Through his council, I have become a better person. Doug has taught me about family, conviction, hard work, but to not take yourself too seriously. I'm honored to bear witness to the union of two strong and principled people I respect dearly.

Isaac Stone

Isaac, a healthcare IT entrepreneur with many hobbies, the outdoors, aviation, sailing, and anything in between, holds Bachelor's and Masters of Health Administration degrees from the University of Missouri. Doug and I met playing soccer at Mizzou. After 15+ years, we're still playing soccer today and have grown our friendship beyond the beautiful game to sharing professional and life goals. Over the years I’ve really understood what a quality person Doug is and have been fortunate to get to know him and his family. We laugh and joke around almost effortlessly when we get together. It’s a blessing to have a friend like Doug and he deserves an amazing life partner like Pokam. Everything Doug has said about her sounds perfect for him and we are looking forward to celebrating their union.

Theodore is a lawyer in New York City. He has a J.D. from the University of Virginia and enjoys books, barbecue, travel, and has recently developed an interest in cooking. Pokam has been my big sister for as long as I can remember. My siblings and I always refer to Pokam as the mother hen because she has always been there to support and guide us in the various endeavors we’ve pursued from our school days to now. I’m thrilled she's found Doug and is pursuing this great new adventure with a partner who will help guide and support her. Congrats to you two and I'm honored to be a part of your special day!
