If you liked cereal as a kid (or adult), you will love this little ice cream place that operates out of a shipping container. They use cereal milk as a base for their ice cream. We lived across the bridge and walked here often over the summer. Take your ice cream and enjoy the river views from the bridge. Tizzy K's is weather dependent, so check their instagram or the weather before going. You may be able to catch them when they have a secret flavor!
Great spot for dinner! It's across from the Providence River, so stop here then walk across the bridge to Tizzy K's for ice cream. There are also some shops close by (Craftland, Modern Love) if you want to pick up souvenirs from local artists.
This memorable experience is an art installation that happens during the summer months. Many people actually travel to town for this event! The Providence River glows with fires lit from a gondola, while vendors set up tents and food trucks in the streets. The full schedule will not be released until sometime in 2024, so keep checking back on their website. It is possible that it could be scheduled when people are in town for our wedding, if so you should definitely go! The best place to park would probably be Providence Place Mall, or you can Uber. Enjoy WaterFire by walking around the streets, or coordinate your gondola ride with the event!
The Nitro Bar has several locations, so check Google Maps for the one closest to you. Their nitro coffees are our favorite. Some other spots to check out for coffee are Small Point and Little City for great breakfast items and lattes. We lived right around the corner and walked to those two often!
For a different kind of zoo experience, head over to Roger Williams Park & Zoo! This is an open concept zoo, with lots of room for the animals. The park is worth checking out as well and has trails you can walk. You can access the park without going to the zoo - look online for a trail to follow. You can also go in a swan boat ride at the park.
Enjoy a day touring the huge historical mansions along the ocean in Newport! Pair this with the Cliff Walk or a beach day. We have not done this specific tour but it was highly recommended to us. You can also download an audio tour if you prefer.
There are many other activities, from farmers markets to goat hikes/yoga...If you are down to venture out an hour or so from Rhode Island, send Ashley a message for even more recommendations in surrounding states!
