We're getting married!

We met online and had our first date during the Texas ice storm in February 2022. We braved the snow to go out on our first date at Taverna. After some pasta and great conversation, we decided we didn't want the night to end and headed to Henderson Tap House, where Ryan helped Ashley walk through the icy sidewalks. Time went by so fast and our date didn't end until they did last call!

Ryan brought up looking at rings around Dec and we looked at engagement rings in January when we got back from our trip to Miami. Ashley knew the engagement was going to happen sometime before the summer, so Ryan threw her off by making a detailed itinerary for each weekend in May. On the day of the engagement, the plan said that we were going to a play, Fiddler on the Roof, and to dinner and a speakeasy. The day before the engagement, Ryan suggested grabbing a drink at a nearby beer garden before dinner and the play. Ashley figured there was no time for a proposal with such a tight timeline! We finished up our drink at the beer garden around 7pm. Ryan suggested getting a picture at the Margaret Hunt Bridge, which was right across the street. We got out of the car and walked to the bridge. Ryan asked a man with a camera to take our picture - and he said no!! He said he was waiting for someone (which was actually us). Ryan and the man both seemed confused, and he eventually agreed to take our picture on Ryan's phone. When he handed the phone back to Ryan, he seemed to realize what was happening and started taking pictures on his camera while Ryan proposed. Our main photographer, Stacy, was hiding on the sidewalk below, and the second photographer was her husband. The whole thing threw Ashley off and added to the surprise! We spent some time enjoying the moment and walking around the bridge. After our engagement, Ryan had another surprise - all of our friends and family waiting to celebrate us at our favorite Dallas brewery, Celestial. Ryan really went out of his way to make the day special and memorable!
