Why Piney River Ranch?

Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be at Piney River Ranch (PRR)! PRR is nestled in the stunning Rocky Mountains, providing an incredible backdrop of alpine lakes, meadows, and 13,500+ ft peaks. You may even have the chance to spot a moose or two! With little to no service or wifi, PRR is a perfect place to disconnect. We look forward to spending true quality time with you all!

Cocktail / Semi-Formal - Suits (jacket and no tie is fine) and cocktail dresses.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
During the day, you can expect 70s and sunny, with a possible afternoon shower that will last less than 20min. At night, the temperatures drop to 50s. That said, CO weather is very unpredictable so bring layers! Also, given you are nearly 10,000 feet closer to the sun, it is highly recommended you wear sunscreen!

Will I feel the altitude?
Answer
Vail, CO is at 8,150 feet above sea level and Piney River Ranch is at 9,350 feet. For those accustomed to lower elevations, it is very possible you will feel a little winded when walking, going up hill, and when hitting the dance floor. The venue does not have any significant hills nor long walks, so should be okay! Also, altitude can cause adult beverages to hit a bit quicker...prepare yourself! It is very important to drink lots of water before coming to Colorado and during your stay, as it will help prevent altitude sickness. Altitude sickness can include headaches, light-headedness, or even nausea. For those who are particularly concerned, it is recommended to stay overnight in Denver (lower elevation) for a night or two before going up into the mountains.
