Things To Do

There's quite a lot of stuff to do in New York City. You've probably heard of the Statue of Liberty, The Met and The Empire State Building. Here's a few slightly more obscure attractions that you might like to check out during your stay.

Three Seat Espresso

137 Avenue A, New York, NY 10009
, (917) 388-2769

For your true blue Aussie fix! They also do a killer avocado smash and English crumpets!

Museum of The American Gangster

80 Saint Marks Place, New York, NY 10003

Tell them Pete and Phoebe sent you. And stop by the speakeasy for a cheeky absinthe!

Strand Book Store

828 Broadway, New York, NY 10003
, (212) 473-1452

5 miles of books... say no more!

Murray's Cheese Bar

264 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014
, (646) 476-8882

In case you're hankering for some cheesey comestibles!

Barcade

6 Saint Marks Place, New York, NY 10003
, (212) 388-0522

In case you need to relive your childhood.

Obscura Antiques & Oddities

207 Avenue A, New York, NY 10009
, (212) 505-9251

If you're in the market for a sword look no further. They have a vast array of weird and wonderful stuff!

Tompkins Square Park

East 10th Street, New York, NY 10009
, (212) 639-9675

It's not Central Park but it's pretty cool! And you're far less likely to get lost or eaten by the legendary Central Park Alligator.

Brooklyn Brewery

79 North 11th Street, Williamsburg, NY 11249
, (718) 486-7422

For all your hipster beer needs!

The Wayland

700 East 9th Street, New York, NY 10009
, (212) 777-7022

Cocktails and Oyster happy hour. Nuff said.

Russ & Daughters

179 East Houston Street, New York, NY 10002
, (212) 475-4880 ext. 1

Meg Ryan might have been eating a few doors down in that famous scene, but Russ and Daughters is the superior producers of orgasmically delicious treats!

Buffalo Exchange

332 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10003
, (212) 260-9340

In case you wanna get your thrift on.

Tenement Museum

103 Orchard Street, New York, NY 10002
, (212) 982-8420

A wonderful look into New York history and Carol's favorite museum!

George Gustav Heye Center (National Museum of the American Indian)

1 Bowling Green, New York, NY 10004

A beautiful and moving collection of native American art and history.

The Frick Collection

1 East 70th Street, New York, NY 10021
, (212) 288-0700

You can see it all in under an hour and be done in time for cocktails!

Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration

As immigrants ourselves we think this is a fascinating place to visit. The ferry to Ellis Island also stops off at that big lady with the torch statue and definitely gives you some great photo ops!

McSorley's Old Ale House

15 East 7th Street, New York, NY 10003
, (212) 473-9148

One of the oldest bars in New York. The chicken wish bones on the ceiling are a touching momentos of those who didn't make it back from World War I. And there's sawdust on the floor for that extra olde worldy vibe!

For all the days along the way
