A little bit about Nerja

A Little bit about Nerja

Here are some great options

Nerja town is situated right on the Mediterranean coastline, in the south of Spain, in the Andalucia region. The town is built on a cliff above numerous sandy coves and lies at the foot of the Sierra de Almijara mountain range. Protected by the mountains, the temperate climate makes Nerja an ideal place to visit at any time of the year. The town centre is located around the Balcón de Europa - there is a beautiful promenade and lookout point. The main beach is Burriana, but there are many small private coves to the east and west of the Balcón de Europa. We prefer the smaller less packed beaches. You can rent sunbeds for the day at €6, or just throw a towel down. It is advised to get down early before it gets busy. You can easily walk around town, it would take an hour to walk from one side of Nerja (Burriana) to the other side (El Playazo). As most of the town is located on the cliffs over the sea, the beach area around the town centre and Burriana is a downhill walk. Don't forget you will need to walk back up the hill on the way home. There is no shortage of Tapas bars, (our favourites) and restaurants catering to all tastes Spanish, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian, really it has it all. There is plenty of daytime things to do, including paddle boarding, kayaking & surfing you might even have time to see a traditional flamenco dance. The nightclub area is known as Plaza Tutti Frutti. Would not recommend getting your accommodation in this area.
