Paquita is the tranquil tea shop where we got engaged. It's a cozy spot that embodies the timeless aesthetic we hope to capture. Please give them a visit and try their tea!
If you're exploring Sleepy Hollow during our wedding weekend, be sure to stop by Coffee Labs Roasters. It's cozy and atmospheric! Troy loved their coffee and Peyton loved their Halloween-themed desserts. Located right on Main Street in Tarrytown, it's the perfect place to grab a treat before exploring.
By day, you can tour Washington Irving’s charming riverside estate and learn about the author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. But we especially recommend visiting at night for a live performance of the spooky tale complete with atmospheric lighting, live actors, and an appearance by the Headless Horseman himself.
Looking for something festive and a little spooky in Sleepy Hollow? Check out this display of over 7,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns at the Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze. Troy and Peyton went here on a date and loved it 🎃
Chelsea Market is a lively food hall in Manhattan's West Side, packed with great eats and cool shops. It’s set in an old factory with a laid-back, industrial vibe. Don’t miss Very Fresh Noodles—they hand-pull chewy biang-biang noodles right in front of you. Perfect spot to wander, snack, and people-watch. (P.S. Chelsea Market is one of our favorite date spots!)
If you're spending time in Manhattan, we highly recommend checking out Koreatown. It's one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city with plenty of options for Korean BBQ, cozy cafés, late-night desserts, and karaoke spots.
For a classic New York cultural experience, head to Lincoln Center. It’s home to the ballet, opera, symphony, and more. The plaza is stunning to walk through, especially in the evening when the fountains are lit. It's just a 5-10 minute walk from the iconic Central Park (and a 1-2 minute walk from Fordham University Lincoln Center, where Peyton and Troy met and took classes together!)
The Strand is New York's favorite independent book store (and one of ours, too!) It houses over 2.5 million books which is equal to 18 miles of shelves spread across three floors. If you're looking for something as iconic as Times Square or the Statue of Liberty but with a bit more bookish ambience, The Strand is the perfect place.
What would a trip to NYC be without catching a Broadway show? Peyton's current Broadway fave is Hadestown, but there are plenty of other shows to choose from, including Hamilton, Wicked, and many more. Be sure to book tickets in advance if there's a show you're excited about!
Smalls is one of Troy's favorite jazz clubs in the city. It's a musical oasis where independent jazz artists and avid listeners can enjoy late-night city blues. If patrons enter after midnight, there is no admissions fee!
