Capilla del Hombre
In the former home of the legendary painter Oswaldo Guayasamín (1919–99), this wonderful museum houses the most complete collection of the artist's work. Guayasamín was also an avid collector, and the museum displays his outstanding collection of pre-Columbian ceramic, bone and metal pieces. Admission includes entry to the Capilla del Hombre gallery.
Pululagua
At one of the world's only inhabited volcanoes, 10 miles north of the city, the extreme elevation plus the cloud forest's humidity make it a paradise for flora, including nearly 100 species of orchids
Teleférico de Quito
Get a feel for landscape with an 18 minute gondola ride up the slopes of Pichincha, an active volcano. At about 13,000 feet, on a clear day, you'll be able to see the glacier-topped Cotopaxi volcano.
El Panecillo
Take a cab to the 135 foot tall virgin statue and find a spot in the grass to watch the city.
