WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

HOW WE MET September 23, 2018 It was only a month and a half after Pedro had relocated to New York City in search of new opportunities. After both swiping right on Tinder, the first date was at a restaurant uptown in Harlem. The second date was the following weekend. It was a beautiful night of dinner and clubbing in Hell’s Kitchen, and ended with the first kiss. By December 5/18, Jon and Pedro officially became a couple, and recognize this date as their anniversary.  In July 2019, Jon traveled to Orlando, FL, to spend time with Pedro’s family & friends. Shortly after this, knowing they wanted to continue building their relationship, Jon & Pedro made the life-changing decision to adopt a month-old puppy from a Quaker family in Pennsylvania.  In October 2019, Jon and Pedro drove out to the farm and welcomed a slightly timid (at least initially) goldendoodle into their family, Diego. It was the best decision ever. Diego has helped complete the family The couple traveled again to Florida to celebrate the new year with family. Right before the new year, Jon and Pedro suggested a game to the family where everyone describes the previous year and upcoming year in a single word.  Without hesitation, Jon offered the word “love” for 2019, and then the word “marriage” for 2020! The entire group of family and friends shouted in excitement celebrating the couple. THE PROPOSAL February 9, 2020 Pedro planned a large brunch at the apartment for Jon’s birthday, but Jon planned a surprise of his own with a touching, heartfelt marriage proposal surrounded by close friends. And Pedro responded immediately with YES, of course! That same day, Pedro had the opportunity to speak with Jon’s family, who welcomed him with love. THE FUTURE Jon and Pedro look forward to beginning this new chapter of their lives together.  The couple will live uptown in Harlem, and are excited for more travel, more shows, more reunions, and building a life. Together. #VoteForPedro&Jon #BandesWhiteWedding
