When should I RSVP by?

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Since we've been living together for a little over four years, we're pretty happy with our household goods and have opted not to register for physical items. If you'd still like to offer us a gift, we would appreciate contributions to our moving fund or honeymoon fund through our Registry tab on this website. We will likely be leaving Santa Barbara in the next year or so and would love to buy a house somewhere!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Lions Park, our ceremony and reception venue, has a large parking lot that should be able to accommodate all of our guests. You may also leave your vehicle overnight if you would prefer to stay safe at the end of the night and call an Uber or Lyft. Vehicles should be collected no later than 9:00am the next day (Sunday August 18th).

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4:00pm, and you are welcome to arrive anytime after 3:30pm. Be aware that it is August in California, and may be quite warm, so you might consider arriving closer to 3:45 or 3:50pm. We'll have water waiting to keep you hydrated!

Our wedding will be adults only - we're hopeful that parents are looking forward to using our wedding as a kid-free date night!

What is the weather like in August in Carpinteria?

Answer

Summers in this part of California are generally pretty mild, with daytime highs around 75-80. It can get up to 90 during the summer, but that is very rare. The venue is far enough away from the water that we likely won't have ocean breezes BUT the park has a lot of trees and natural shade, and the reception space will have air conditioning! Be sure to check the weather report before you come see us!

Who should I tell if I have any allergies / dietary restrictions?

Answer

We'll have a space on the RSVP to tell us about any restrictions. One thing to note on the topic of allergies: We've been told by the venue that occasionally during the summer, the park sees quite a few bees. The park is in the middle of avocado groves with their own bee boxes, so we may see some overspill. If you are allergic, please remember to bring an epi-pen, benadryll, etc. with you!

What should I wear?

Answer

Our official recommendation is Garden Party Attire: bright colors, floral prints, light-colored suits, etc. But honestly, wear whatever is comfortable! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, and the reception inside (with A/C).
