Paul and Belle met in February 2018 at UC Berkeley while on the same non-competitive hip hop dance team. Funny enough, Paul and Belle were both placed on different teams but switched to be on the same team as their friends Alex (best man) and Ryan (bridesmaid), respectively. So you could basically say it's fate that Paul and Belle's paths crossed given that Paul was a senior majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science while Belle was a freshmen majoring in Integrative Biology. They quickly became friends and started spending time together studying on campus. Belle knew Paul liked her when his version of "studying" was watching basketball on his computer next to Belle as she actually studied. Without wasting much time, Paul decided to tell Belle that he liked her and was interested in dating. Their relationship moved quickly as they both said "I love you" only 2 weeks after dating. Shortly after, Paul was set to graduate UC Berkeley in May 2018, putting his and Belle's relationship at risk for long distance (which both were not ready for). At that time, Paul and Belle were deep into the honeymoon phase, seeing each other multiple times a day, everyday. Thankfully, Paul found a job working at Lawrence Labs in Livermore. He and Belle continued to see each other almost everyday, traveling 45 minutes back and forth between San Leandro (where Paul lived at the time) and Berkeley. After graduating college in 2020, Belle moved in with Paul in San Jose, where Paul was now working for Amazon and Belle was working at a physical therapy clinic as an aide during her gap year. While in the midst of the COVID pandemic, they spontaneously adopted their 2 kitties, Kobe and Nala, who were the first pets they ever had. Even though the pandemic caused everyone to stay locked up inside, Paul and Belle enjoyed all the quality time spent together everyday playing board games, doing Bob Ross paintings, watching Netflix, doing at-home workouts, trying new recipes, and learning to be cat parents. In March of 2021, Belle got into physical therapy school and Paul, Belle, and the cats moved their lives down to San Diego. Physical therapy school caused Belle so much stress but living with the love of her life made studying much more bearable. Clinical rotations forced Paul and Belle to move from Las Vegas, NV to Scottsdale, AZ to Sacramento, CA before finally settling down in Orange County in their very first condo after Belle's graduation at the end of November. While in between terms in physical therapy school, Belle and Paul traveled to Maui, HI to escape their busy lives. On Sunday, April 24, 2022, Paul and Belle woke up early to go to a private beach in Maui where Paul went on one knee and proposed to Belle. Belle said "yes" before Paul even finished asking her "will you marry me?". It was the happiest day of their lives and by far the best vacation they had been on. The past 6 years of their relationship have been filled with vacations to Disneyland, Hawaii (3 times!), Napa Valley, Mexico, Grand Canyon, New York City, Taiwan, and Japan. They hope to go on many more vacations across the globe, especially now that Belle is done with school for good. They both knew very early on in their relationship that they would get married and had dreamed of their special day years before they even got engaged. Now, they can't wait to celebrate it with you :)
