Patrick and Linzie matched on Bumble and first met at Terrestrial Brewing Company on Valentine’s Day in 2024. Linzie had planned to spend the evening on her own with her dog when Patrick offered to meet her there and buy her a drink. When Pat first saw her, he was nervous because he thought she was beautiful. The two sat down together, and before they knew it, two hours had flown by. Linzie thought he was easy to talk to and incredibly sweet. She glanced at the time in surprise when she realized it was already past 9 p.m. Pat had originally said he needed to leave on time for hockey, but neither of them wanted the night to end. A few days later, Linzie invited him to play Call of Duty together. Pat was nervous, while Linzie was excited, and before long she was laughing so hard she was in tears throughout the night. She found him funny, genuine, and endearing. That weekend, it was time for their first official date. Since Pat played hockey, Linzie asked him to take her ice skating. She spent extra time getting ready to make sure she looked cute. She told herself that if the date was boring, she would head home after skating. But if she didn’t want the night to end, she’d ask him to dinner. They met at the ice rink in Shaker Heights, and Linzie was excited to see him. She noticed how much he laughed at her jokes and how attentive he was, constantly trying to keep her from falling which she thought was incredibly sweet, even though she still managed to fall eight times. She had the time of her life. After skating, she asked him to dinner, and they went out for hibachi. Pat carried her food for her and brushed the snow off her car while telling her to stay inside and warm up. Before they left, Pat went to his car and came back with a hockey puck for her. At the end of the night, Linzie gave him a kiss on the cheek. She held onto that puck the entire drive home, smiling the whole way and thinking about him and their perfect date. On May 31, 2025, Patrick proposed to Linzie beneath a sky full of floating paper lanterns. On July 25, 2025, they will be getting married...and the rest is history.
