Question

How are you preparing for a wedding with COVID?

Answer

We know things are unsure. We continue to pray for everyone’s health and for as many people as possible to be vaccinated. The vast majority of people attending will be vaccinated by the wedding and the few others are taking careful precautions. If we have to limit to immediate family/wedding party only, we will let you know as soon as possible. The venue can fit 150 people inside (with barn doors open) with extra-strict restaurant-level spacing. There are three covered outdoor areas and a big field. There will be spaced seating/tables and open seating. Staff will be wearing gloves/masks, taking their temperature, and using contactless methods. A separate porch exists to watch the ceremony if of interest. We sincerely appreciate your efforts to do anything you can to minimize risk of exposure in the ten days before the wedding. Please feel free to ask or note with your RSVP if you have any questions about the full extent of precautions.

Question

Will this wedding be awesome?

Answer

In short, yes. It will be awesome, but how awesome will depend largely on you. Will you joyously celebrate the union of these two people who love you dearly? Are you prepared to tell funny stories to people you've never met? Can you do the Wobble or are you willing to learn? (The Bride taught the Groom, so clearly anyone can do it.)

Question

Can I bring my chess partner? Uncle Bob? Pet teacup llama?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are limited in the number of people we can host at the venue while trying to make sure that everyone feels comfortable with social distancing. We look forward to celebrating with your Uncle Bob and especially your teacup llama at another time!

Question

Can I take pictures and post them on social media?

Answer

We kindly ask that you tag one of us in the pictures and/or use #WillwedsJess so that we can enjoy them with you! Additionally, we request that you don't take photos during our ceremony so that you can be truly in the moment with us as we exchange our vows. We'll have three photographers and two videographers, so have no fear about there being documentation :)

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

First and foremost, we would hope that you opt to wear clothes. We recommend semi-formal/cocktail attire, though a suit of armor will win you the "Best Dressed Award". Beyond that, it gets somewhat hot in South Carolina in May, with average highs anywhere from 77-84, but the barn has air conditioning--hallelujah!

Question

How can I get from the wedding ceremony to the reception?

Answer

Walk about 100 feet. Our ceremony and reception will be held at the same location to keep things simple for everyone.

Question

Do you have any recommendations for where I should stay?

Answer

Yes! Take a look at the "Travel" page for information on the hotels where we've set up special, discounted blocks. If you have more questions about where to stay, feel free to reach out to us!
