Travel Note

Getting to Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is located on Mt. Desert Island in Maine. The closest airport is located in Bangor Maine. From Bangor, it is a little over an hour drive to Bar Harbor. The closest major airport is Boton Logan International Airport. From Boston, Bar Harbor is approximately a five hour drive. Once you arrive in Bar Harbor, it is very walkable. However, having a vehicle is helpful to access other parts of Mt. Desert Island, such as Acadia National Park. Folks that are driving from Boston (and are staying in Emerson House and Mason Loft) we strongly enocourage carpooling because there are limited parking spots. Thank you in advance.

House Or Rental

Emerson House & Mason Loft (Airbnb)

Rather than getting a room block somewhere and having folks need to drive from their accomodations, we rented a 12-bedroom house on Airbnb for the weekend, October 12th - 16th, so we’d have space for the majority of you to stay with us. (Note: we are coordinating with a few of you to stay a walkable distance nearby in groups.) The Airbnb has plenty of space and will ultimately be the venue for our celebration with you all. We will work with each of you to coordinate costs depending on the length of your stay with us!

Weather

During the fall season, the weather in Maine varies. The temperature can be 60 degrees during the day, but then drop to 35 degrees at night. Please plan accordingly. [This note is specifially for our lovely friends making the trek all the way from San Diego!]
