To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we respectfully ask that no children under the age of 15 attend the event. The only children attending are those who are part of our wedding party.
Formal Attire. For our spring wedding, our ceremony will be held outdoors. We kindly request guests stick to formal attire such as lightweight suits and cocktail or evening dresses. Also, we kindly ask that guests not wear traditional bridal colors such as whites or ivories.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Riversbend Ranch in Stanley, VA. The address is 397 Riverbend Rd, Stanley, VA 22851.
The wedding ceremony will take place outdoors on a grassy area. The reception will take place in a covered barn that is open on both ends.
Due to space and catering restraints, we cannot accommodate extra people at the wedding. We only have spaces for the guests listed on your invitation.
Although weather in May in northern Virginia can be difficult to predict, it is likely that it will be in the 70s. For reference, the average high temperature has been 73 degrees in recent years. However, temperatures do fall into the mid to low 60s at night, therefore if this is cold for you, we recommend bringing a light jacket as the reception venue is not heated.
We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a plated sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. There will be vegetarian options for both the cocktail hour appetizers and main entrees.
Yes! Let's party!
Please let us know if you have a food allergy or dietary restriction and we will do our best to work with the caterer to find a meal option that fits your needs. Please reach out to us directly if this applies to you.
We’ve hired a photographer and we’d love to have photos with no phones or devices in them. Please put away your cameras and phones during our wedding ceremony.
Yes, we'd love for guests to share their memories using our wedding hashtag: #MayaTimesTwoSaysIDo. For anyone who doesn't know, we call each other "Maya" which means "Love" in Nepali. Feel free to use this hashtag on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to help us collect all the wonderful moments from our special day.
We have set up a honeymoon fund with Zola (please see the "Registry" section of our website). If you feel inclined to give us a wedding gift, it would mean the world to us if you contributed to our amazing honeymoon in India visiting the Taj Mahal (the greatest monument to love).
Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a wedding card box for your convenience. We kindly request no box gifts and would greatly appreciate any contribution to our dream honeymoon (visiting the Taj Mahal in India).
Luray, Virginia is the closest town to our wedding venue. It has several fun food options. Please see the "Things To Do" section of our website for some ideas.
We highly recommend that guests reach out to our venue Riversbend Ranch if they are interested in doing a trail ride at the ranch before our wedding. This is a super fun way to see the property and get a feel for the area. In addition, there are plenty of fun activities in the area, including visiting Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. Please see the "Things To Do" section of our website for more details.
"Maya" means "Love" in Nepali (Yug's native language) and is our term of endearment for each other. It's the source of inspiration for our wedding hashtag. You will likely hear a lot of "Maya" during our event!
