Our favorite beach to relax at, with great snorkeling and free parking for an easy visit.
Top self-guided snorkeling spots include Kahekili (Airport) Beach, Baby Beach (calm and kid-friendly), Napili Bay, and Black Rock. Be sure to check the snorkel report for safety before you go: https://thesnorkelstore.com/get-maui-snorkel-report/. Snorkel gear is very easy to rent. We recommend Snorkel Bob’s for the best rates and locations.
Take a scenic coastal drive along Maui’s northwest shore to the Nakalele Blowhole, known for its dramatic cliffs, ocean views, short hikes, and roadside food stands. Parking at the blowhole costs $30, but it’s well worth it. Pro tip: download the Shaka Guide app—it acts like a personal tour guide, pointing out must-see stops, parking tips, and sharing Hawaiian stories and music along the way.
An easy, scenic coastal walk with ocean views, lava rock formations, and beautiful beaches along Maui’s northwest shore.
Beginning in December, humpback whales return to Maui’s waters and can be seen up close on guided catamaran and boat tours. Our favorite tour company for whale watching is Ultimate Whale Watch & Snorkel, which leaves out of Lahaina. Book in advance since you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the tour.
A laid-back sunset catamaran cruise with stunning ocean views, drinks on board, and unforgettable Maui sunsets. If you’re lucky, you may even spot whales along the way. We recommend Sea Maui’s Sunset Cocktail Cruise.
The Road to Hana is one of Maui’s most famous drives and an unforgettable experience, but it’s an all-day adventure. With winding roads and many must-see stops along the way, a driving guide is highly recommended. If you’re interested, we’re happy to share our go-to guide. You can also do a partial version of the Road to Hana on your own.

The island’s most popular restaurant! It’s about an hour’s drive from Lahaina, and reservations often need to be made months in advance... but it’s absolutely worth it for a special evening.
Casual, Hawaii Inspired Filipino Asian Cuisine
Casual and local, serving up fresh fish, poke, and tasty plates in a relaxed setting.
A casual Lahaina spot for Mexican comfort food and margaritas.

The most fun breakfast spot on Maui! Create your own pancake art right at the table!
This is Alex's favorite place to watch football...at least when the Lions have a chance at the playoffs. We park at the Airport Beach Parking lot (65 Kai Ala Dr, Lahaina, HI 96761) and walk over to Pailolo bar early to get a good seat. Remember 12pm CST football starts at 8am on the island!
Not sure where to eat? This food truck park is a great fallback, with multiple food options and something for everyone.
