While we both work with children in education and the arts we prefer to have a child free wedding. Our only exception will be our immediate family that will be in the ceremony. Parents, we want you to have fun and not worry about keeping an eye on your child all night! 21 and over only.
The name(s) on the invitation is who is invited. Do not ask for a plus one or if you can bring a random friend. Absolutely no exceptions.
The venue is “Current” at Chelsea Piers. There are multiple venues at Chelsea Piers, please make sure you are going to “Current” On Uber just enter: Current 59 Chelsea Piers On Lyft enter: “Current” 59 Chelsea Piers and select your drop off for “Golf Club | Current”
Please arrive promptly at 6:30pm for the ceremony. There will be a cocktail hour following the ceremony and a reception with a plated dinner after. The reception will end at 12:30am
This is a Black Tie affair! Tuxedos and full length gowns. We have a lot of artists coming so we also like to say dress like you are going to an Awards Show. While it will be July and expected to be hot, the ceremony and reception will be entirely indoors. We will be picking a wide variety of food for cocktail hour so please make sure to ask your server to be sure that it is something you can eat. For the seated dinner please let your server know if you have any allergies or would like a vegan option.
We have booked special rate blocks at (2) two hotels. Booking links can be found under the travel tab on this website. Ink48 will be the hotel the wedding party will be getting ready at. The hotel has very spacious rooms and it is located on 11th avenue and 48th street, very close to the west side highway, where our venue is located. Because it is on 11th avenue there is not much to do in the immediate surrounding area of the hotel, however, it is just one avenue away from the heart of the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in the eastern direction, and one avenue away from the Hudson River and the USS intrepid in the western direction: all walking distance! Some great spots by the hotel are Gotham Market, 3 blocks south and Cantina Rooftop located the next block over. Sullivan Bakery is located on West 47th Street between 11th and 10th and open for some nice coffee, pastries, sandwiches and more. Four Points Sheraton is located right in the middle of Hudson Yards on 35th street and 10th ave, just 5 blocks from our apartment! This is a more tourist friendly location as it is a short walk to Hudson Yards mall and the Vessel. Some of our favorite spots by this hotel are Bronx Brewery inside Hudson Yards mall, Russ & Daughters (mainly for breakfast), Whole Foods, and directly across the entrance is Friedman’s - where we had our second date! If you decide on a different hotel we recommend staying in the Chelsea neighborhood or Meat Packing District. The Standard and The Dream Downtown are two hotels that are a short walk to the venue. Since we have two hotels blocked we will not be able to provide any type of shuttle service to and from the venue. We highly encourage you to Uber or Lyft from the hotel. Although the driving distance to the venue is close to each hotel (under a 10 min ride), please allow ample time to call the car and anticipate for traffic and drop off.
