When should I book the hotel?

Answer

As soon as you’re able! The room block at the Whitney Peak Hotel will open to the public on May 10th, so it's safest to book before that date — see "travel" page for details on how to reserve. The Reno Rodeo is in town during our wedding so things may book fast; and if you're looking to stay closer to Lake Tahoe, summer is a busy season.

Is this an indoor or outdoor wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside in a grassy backyard, the reception will be in a tented room that has heating/cooling. Some walking may be involved between the two locations.

What’s the weather/climate like?

Answer

We can’t predict the weather, but on average for the month of June, Reno has a high of 84 and low of 49, and rain is very rare. The air is very dry (low humidity) so we recommend bringing lotion, as well as eye drops or nasal spray if you’re sensitive.

Will you require COVID-19 vaccines to attend?

Answer

Yes, due to the ongoing pandemic we are requiring all guests to be fully vaccinated out of respect for each other's health and safety. Be prepared to show proof of vaccination if asked.
