We are having a weekday wedding retreat at The Steel Horse in Villa Grove, CO (https://thecoloradoretreat.co/location). Please read both the Wedding Retreat and Wedding Day events for more details. We will need RSVP's by June 30th, 2024, so we can coordinate who can stay on the property with us. We will try to squeeze in as many families as we can, but space is limited. If we do run out of space, and you still want to spend the week with us, there are plenty of motel options 30 minutes away in the beautiful town of Salida as well as a little lodge in Poncha Springs. We will not be reserving rooms at any specific motel, so the decision is yours where you decide to stay. We hope you can spend the time with us whether for our wedding day or the whole week. This will be an epic camping trip, where we just happen to be exchanging some vows and getting married (finally!).

Wedding Retreat

Comfortable attire for September in the mountains.

The venue provides lodging but space is limited and will be chosen by Joel and I on a first come, first serve basis. Spots available include RV and tent sites. There will be no charge to guests who will be staying on the property. PLEASE ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS ON THE RSVP PAGES. We will contact you directly once we coordinate lodging onsite to let you know what arrangements you need to make. We will be providing a light breakfast the 24th, 25th and 26th. Lunch will be provided the 24th and 25th. Lunch will be DIY sandwiches, chips, snacks, fruit etc. We will be grilling burgers, brats and hotdogs along with sides, the nights of the 23rd and 25th. If there is anything else you'd like to bring with you, please feel free. All meals are provided on the day of the wedding. There is a commercial catering size kitchen available for use. Grills (2) with propane will be available. The refrigerators will not be available to guests. We are at our dog limit onsite. No fires are allowed.

Wedding Day

Cowboy up!! We invite ya'll to wear your best cowboy and cowgirl attire. No fancy dress required. Put on your best cowboy hats, boots, jeans and dresses.

Our venue is tucked away in the San Luis Valley. You will be surrounded by mountains and a beautiful starry sky at night (full view of the Milky Way!). The last 3.5 miles to the venue is dirt road. Once you arrive to Steel Horse, signs will point you to parking in the back of the property. The wedding ceremony starts at 4:00pm. We kindly ask you arrive by 3:30 to give you time to get to the ceremony location from the parking lot and to get seated. A reception will follow the ceremony in the barn and beer garden with dinner, drinks (beer, seltzers and non-alcoholic options) and variety of entertainment. Appetizers and drinks will be served prior to dinner. Dinner will be BBQ style buffet. Cell phone service is spotty so you may or may not have service. We hope you can join us on our special day!
