Gondola Ride to top of the Mountain
Both Gondola One (from Vail Village) and Eagle Bahn Gondola (from Lionshead Village) operate from 9:30-4pm daily. Go to www.vail.com for more info and tickets. Restaurants are available at top too (see restaurants section). Vail’s Mountaintop Adventure Center is located at the top of Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead (includes Mountain Coaster, Climbing Wall, Bungee Trampoline, Tubing). There is a mini golf near Eagle Bahn Gondola. Tickets sold at the Lionshead Ticket office in front of the gondola.
Betty Ford Alpine Gardens
– lovely area to walk around and explore (free) with the beautiful Amphitheater next to it. 5 minutes from the Vail Transportation Center. Picnic tables and restrooms. Small but pretty.
Biking
electric and regular bikes are available, there are flat paved trails as well as the ability to take a mountain bike to the top via the gondola and ride it down the mountain. Bike rentals: many many options in Vail, refer to vail.com and look at long list of bike rental options throughout all of Vail
Hiking
lots of trail options. Go to www.vail.com and look for the hiking map. Take a gondola up, hike down.
Shopping
a little bit of everything sprinkled throughout Vail Village and Lionshead, hop on the free bus and explore both.
