In April of 2016 Paige was the Director of Longhorn Awakening, a retreat that Cristian was attending. He was a freshman in college and she was about to finish school and pack up her car to move to Anchorage, Alaska. The two of them had no idea that come Summer 2018, they'd be at St. Therese's Catholic Camp falling in love under the Midnight Sun.
February 11th, 2019. The day started with the usual morning prayer and Pastoral Staff meeting. The plan in the afternoon was to go up to Arctic Valley and take new staff photos for our website. Before heading up the mountain, Cristian asked if we could stop by St. Andrew's Parish for Adoration. After praying for a bit we drove up to the Valley. It was a beautiful clear day and we could see the entire city as we were also surrounded by mountains. Cristian parked the car in a random lot and in the distance was a picnic table with champagne, flowers, and a blanket. On the table was a card that said "So will you help me?" Since December, Cristian had been leaving clue cards with riddles on them to lead me to the next spot. The previous card had finished with, "As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord." Cristian got down on one knee and asked me to let him love me to Heaven. Smiling from ear to ear, I said "YES YES YES!"
The wedding will take place in Anchorage, Alaska where Paige and Cristian are starting their lives together. The ceremony will happen at Our Lady of Guadalupe Co-Cathedral. Aside from the beautiful art and architecture in OLG, Paige has developed an incredible devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe who has lead her closer to the foot of the cross. Cristian, being a mama's boy, loved the idea of getting married in a beautiful cathedral dedicated to Our Lady. The reception will take place in the Deacon's Hall at St. Patrick's Parish. Both Paige and Cristian work at St. Patrick's and are very excited to dance and celebrate in the same place they get to minister to the parishoners of the parish.
