Hotel
This is where Owen and Andrea will be staying. Note: this hotel would be considered a boutique Colombian hotel, with a more traditional vibe. English by the employees is seldom, and there may be language barriers. Free breakfast daily, an incredible rooftop lounge, and a modern vibe throughout. Our advice on room types: Corner room - for two people Middle room - for one person

Hotel
Another beautiful hotel, 1 block away from Hotel Coco. All rooms are 2-room suites. With a low nightly price and chic Colombian ambiance, it is definitely more of an American vibe. English widely spoken, and USD is accepted. Breakfast is made to order for every guest. Shuttle to and from airport (optional). A good option for those with limited Spanish and want a more traditional USA sleeping arrangement.
Hotel
In between Hotel Coco and Embassy Suites. Beautiful hotel, world class restaurants throughout the hotel. Discount Code to be provided shortly.

We recommend using Hopper, an app available on both iPhone and Android. You enter your dates (i.e., July 5 - July 10), and the app will track the prices for the flights and let you know when to book/when is cheapest. Prices will fluctuate over the next few months, but tracking will ensure you get the best price. Do not be deterred from a layover. We have done plenty of layovers on this route (Panama, Mexico City, El Salvador) and all have worked out perfectly.
Travel Note
Please note that when you land at the Bogota Airport, these are the steps to get through immigration/customs. 1) After landing and disembarking, you will be directed to the immigration line. It is hit or miss if the customs agents will speak English, but these are the questions they will ask. Have answers ready. a. Where are you staying? b. Do you have a return flight back to the USA? c. What is the purpose of your visit? d. What is the phone number and address of your hotel/stay? 2) After going through immigration, you will immediately be escorted to baggage claim. Wait for your suitcase or bypass this step if you aren’t checking a bag. Owen never checks a bag, Andrea is the opposite. If possible, bring carry on, expedites the process. 3) To leave the airport, you will have to walk through customs. This takes at most 30 seconds, and they just look at your boarding pass. Not sure why this step even exists, but you will need to walk through a gate and get your boarding pass “checked” again. 4) Now you’re on the outside of the airport, good. You have three options to get to the hotel: a. Take Uber. Easy, cheap and efficient. b. Take a taxi. Easy, but have the address handy and ready to go. c. Take the hotel shuttle. Free from Embassy suites, and can be arranged prior to arrival.
