MUST READ
Below are what we feel are the most important things to know about our wedding. Please also read the FAQ page for more.
Weather: The average high for July in Bogota is 72 degrees, with an average low of 54 degrees. Bogota is in the mountains, almost 9,000ft above sea level. Expect mild, cool weather.
Wedding Dress Code: We want our wedding to be festive and different. Men are encouraged to wear linen suits, nontraditional suits encouraged, but still formal. Women are encouraged to wear something floral and colorful (think long dress), but bring a jacket, because it can get chilly.
Passport: Required. USA is backlogged, can take up to 3 months to receive. Obtain passport ASAP if passport expires in next 6 months.
Currency Exchange: Best at a bank in Bogota, avoid airports and Candelaria.
Safety: Colombia today is incredibly safe. With a booming tourism sector, Colombia is now a popular eco-tourism destination. Having said that, be aware of your surroundings, don’t be dumb.
