Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa is the all-inclusive resort where we're having the wedding and also where we're having people stay for the wedding! You can book your room through our discounted Destify portal at this link: https://reservations.destify.com/guest/reservation/select-date?groupid=128d045f-7e2d-e692-9a5d-64938ea8b23c There is a minimum 3 night stay, so we encourage you stay at least from June 21st, 2024 through June 24th, 2024, but if you're looking to make a longer trip out of it, feel free to do so! Shane and Ora will be arriving at the resort on June 20th, 2024 through June 24th, 2024 and probably traveling around Mexico and potentially other parts of Sentral/South America shortly before and after the wedding if you want to spend more time with the bride and groom. We are encouraging everyone to stay at the resort so we're all in the same place and we are contractually obligated to have 90% of our guests stay at the resort. If you are unable to stay at the resort and want to stay elsewhere, you will have to pay a $100 per person per day fee to enter the resort grounds and will also need to clear it with Shane and Ora beforehand. You can reserve your room now for as little as $150 per person and either pay the rest of the stay off with a payment plan or pay it off by April 16th, 2024.
Please RSVP and at the very least put your $150 downpayment per person on your room at Dreams Sapphire ASAP! We can only have a limited number of guests, so the earlier you let us know the better. Ideally, we will know who all is attending by April 22nd, 2024.
YES! Please make sure you have a passport and it is less than 6 months away from expiring. Get your passports made or renewed ASAP so that you won't have any issue leaving the country.
Beach cocktail attire. We'll be in Mexico in June, so look nice but also prepare for the beach and the heat. For example, you may want to opt for nice flats over heels with dresses or wear lighter suits and shoes you won't mind walking in sand with.
The ceremony on June 22nd, 2024 starts at 6 pm. Please arrive before 6 pm to ensure that everything goes on as scheduled. For more information about the schedule for the wedding weekend, please reference our Schedule section of the wedding website. There is a 3 day minimum stay at the resort so it is preferred that you arrive early.
We will be having events for the wedding from Friday, June 21st, 2024 through Sunday, June 23rd, 2024. Please check the Schedule section of the website for up to date scheduling information.
Yes, the resort we're hosting the wedding at is family friendly, but also please make sure to clear your children with Ora and Shane when RSVPing. We have several children in the family who are definitely coming, but since this wedding is in an international flight away, you may want to leave your younger babies and children back home.
If your plus one has not been invited as part of your invitation, please ask before bringing a date. We have a limited number of guests we can invite and all plus ones need to be cleared with Shane and Ora to ensure we're within our limit.
Please let us know of any dietary restrictions when RSVPing so that we can ensure the resort staff are aware of them.
We have a Zola registry as well as a registry on Amazon, The Container Store and Crate and Barrel. Please see all of our registries in the Registry section of the website.
We have a shared love for beaches and travel and have spent much of our relationship seeing the world one beach at a time! It was only fitting that we have our wedding by the ocean. In addition, Quintana Roo (the region of Mexico that Puerto Morelos is in) and specifically Tulum, Mexico are some of Ora's favorite places on the planet. Also, logistically, it is much less expensive to host a wedding in Mexico since the dollar is strong there and we figured it'd be a fun way to spend more time with our loved ones in a tropical paradise. We think of this more of a vacation party with our friends and family with a little wedding on the side for good measure.
Don't worry! While it's definitely very useful to know Spanish in Mexico, the east coast of Mexico is prone to heavy amounts of American tourists, so most if not all of the staff at Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa also speak English and the Cancun International Airport has signs in English as well as Spanish.
