La Place - Le Village D'Orient

There are a lot of restaurants in this village area located on Orient Bay (French, American and Italian) and bars. We recommend these restaurants for dinner.

L' Astrolabe Restaurant

One of our favorite restaurants on the French side. Expect to spend a little bit more money here, atmosphere, food, and drinks are superb. They do a Caribbean lobster special on Friday nights with live music.

Ocean 82

One of our favorite restaurants in Grand Case (French side). Excellent atmosphere and view during sunset with delicious food and mixed drinks.

Lolo's

Located on the French side-Great for local food (BBQ ribs/chicken, fish, plantain and johnny cakes).

Orient Bay Beach

Mullet Bay Beach

● Instagram worthy beach ● $15 for 2 beach chairs + umbrella - Cash preferable ● Two restaurants on the beach - Burgers, BBQ chicken, fries ● Left side of beach: - Snorkeling, calm water, careful for rocks ● Right side of the beach: - Waves, no chairs, quieter

Maho Beach

● Watch the Airplanes land! - Pro-tip: look up the flight schedule! ● Limited availability of chairs ● Crowded during the daytime ● Sunset Beach Bar - Left side of the beach - Large menu of food and drinks - Pool available ● Can walk to Maho - Diverse restaurants - Shops available

Simpson Bay Beach

● Chairs are free, but you will need to order food or drinks from one of the restaurants ● Breakfast, lunch and dinner ● Live music at Karakter at night ● Recommended for sunset walks along the beach ● Safe places to be on the beach at night (near restaurants) ● Medium-sized waves

Pinel Island

● Drive to the ferry ● 5-10 minute Ferry to the island: - Runs every 30-60 minutes - Need cash for ferry ride (varies, but less than $20 per person, pay once for ride to/from Pinel Island) ● 2 restaurants on the island - Bar tables available in the water! ● Chairs and umbrellas available ● Can hike around the island - Trails available to small, deserted beach on other side of island - Bring sneakers/closed shoes to hike ● Snorkeling available from beach *Fun Fact: Courtney's Mom Lisa & Stepdad Davis got married here in 2008!

Marigot

● Capital of Saint Martin ● Shopping (multiple streets) ● Along the marina: - Jet Ski Tours around the island ○ Restaurant: La Croissanterie ○ Restaurant: Tropicana ● Along the harbor: market - Location: close to Anguilla ferry ○ Usually open on cruise ship days ○ Highly recommended to buy souvenirs, local spices and rums.

Grand Case

During the day: ● Beach ● Restaurant: The Lolo’s At night: ● Shopping ● Restaurant: Rainbow Cafe, Ocean 82 - Gorgeous view of the beach at sunset and night. Pro tip: Please park in the parking lot or along the main street.

Philipsburg

● Capital of Sint Maarten ● Shopping - “Front street” and “Back Street” - Small market for souvenirs available ● Great Bay Beach - Not recommended for swimming ● Boardwalk - Good for a long walk on the beach ● Restaurants available along the boardwalk ● Recommended for 1⁄2 day
