Brittany: "I met Kenny years before we actually started dating. He's my best friend Chicoya's cousin and I would often see him at family functions that I attended with her. It wasn't until a few years later that he approached me. I'm a Tennessee fan and he's an Alabama fan, so we would often trash talk each team. I didn't think anything of it at first, we were both just repping our teams. This went on for about a month or two, I would say and I still didn't think anything of it. Then I randomly get a message from him, "How you doing ma'am?" he says. My response: "I'm good since my Vols won." He then says, "Lol, maybe it'll be be an even better day for me if I could get to know you." From that moment on, we have been inseparable. I am so thrilled to be on this journey with him; I couldn't imagine being on it with anyone else. He is truly my soulmate. "I found the one whom my soul loves." Song of Solomon 3:4 Kenneth: "As stated before I did slide in her DMs because after months of trash talking, I wanted to get to know her more. I built up enough courage to reach out to her to let her know I was interested in getting to know her better. We went on our first date to Taco Mac and we were both a little shy. But we really enjoyed each others company, so much that we made plans to meet up again. On our second date, I realized she was my soulmate. We talked for hours and hours in the car one late night, which prompted us seeing each other more. From there I reintroduced her to my family as my girlfriend and that gave my heart reassurance that we would be together forever because her love for me is so genuine and real."
Brittany: "I was tricked. My best friend Chicoya told me that she wanted all the bridesmaids in her wedding party to take professional photos for her wedding website. I didn't think much of it; I just wanted to do whatever she needed me to do. I tried to get out of it so many times... I couldn't find an outfit to wear, I couldn't find anyone to do my hair and I was just over it because it just wasn't going right so I thought. On the day of, I went and got my makeup done and met up with Chicoya to start the "bridesmaid pictures." It was so hot at Coolidge Park that day and they kept moving me to different parts of the park so that I wouldn't see Kenny and all of our friends and family walking towards me for the proposal. I didn't realize what was going on until I saw a big banner being held by my friends and family that said "Marry Me?" And here comes the waterworks... I literally could not stop crying and seeing all our friends and family there made it even better. Kenneth: "Where should I begin? The planning was stressful and I didn't know what I needed to do to pull this off. Brittany told me numerous times that she just wanted it to be us when I proposed because she didn't want anything extravagant, but that plan didn't go so well. Fast forward to the day of... I was nervous and excited at the same time to be asking my best friend to be my wife. She had no idea what was going on, she really thought she was just taking pictures and little did she know that this day would turn out to be one of the greatest days of our lives. To be able to bring both of our family and friends together really made it special for the both of us but what made it even more special for me was to see that smile and tears of joy on her face, that really meant so much to me."
