Things To Do

Welcome to Chicago! We’re so thrilled to celebrate our wedding with friends and family from near and far. Whether you’re a local or traveling from places like Massachusetts, New York, Maine, Denver, Missouri, Minnesota, Texas, Mexico, or beyond, we’re so grateful for your presence. Chicago is a city we’re proud to call home, and it truly shines during Labor Day weekend. Whether you’re revisiting old favorites or exploring for the first time, there’s no shortage of exciting things to do. We’ve curated a list of our favorite Chicago experiences to help you make the most of your time here. Of course, if you’d rather rest and recharge for the wedding festivities, that’s perfectly fine too—we just want you to enjoy your visit, however you choose to spend it!
Wendella Tours & Cruises

Wendella Tours & Cruises

400 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

We've each done the architecture boat tour a number of times and cannot recommend it enough! It's a great way to see the city, enjoy the weather and learn a thing or two about Chicago’s incredible architectural history!

Museum Campus

Museum Campus

Chicago, IL

Museum Campus at the south end of Grant Park is a hub for some of Chicago’s most iconic attractions: Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and Field Museum of Natural History. Bonus points for taking the Chicago Water Taxi to & from: https://shorelinesightseeing.com/water-taxis/

The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago

111 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603

If the weather is a bit fickle, or not, a stop at the Art Institute of Chicago is a must see attraction. Wander the galleries at one of the largest collections of Impressionist paintings outside of Paris. The collection features works from George Seurat, Grant Wood (American Gothic), Van Gogh, Matisse, Monnet, Picasso, Rembrandt, and so much more. The Modern Wing features works by Andy Warhol. Fun fact ✨ This is where we took our engagement photos!

Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field

1060 West Addison Street, Chicago, IL 60613

Anyone who knows Jake really well knows his deep loyalty and love for the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs aren't at home leading up to the wedding but begin a homestand against the Atlanta Braves on September 1st. If you're sticking around, be sure to catch a game! Wrigleyville is a fun neighborhood. Check out the indoor batting cages on the second floor of Sluggers World Class Sports Bar & Grill ⚾️

Rate Field (White Sox Stadium)

Rate Field (White Sox Stadium)

333 West 35th Street, Chicago, IL 60616

Not a Cubs fan? (Jake doesn't blame you!) The White Sox will be hosting the New York Yankees during Labor Day weekend. Whether you’re a baseball enthusiast or just looking for a fun outing, this is a great option.
