“Hey! Can I ride with you!?” This is their love story and how it began: As you probably know, Heather and Kevin ride bikes. In February of 2015, there was a local evening training ride (The Marietta Crit) in Marietta that they both arrived to late. Kevin was born and raised in Marietta, and Heather was new to the area, so riding in the dark in some unfamiliar business park was a little intimidating. Heather saw a rider ride past and sped up to ask “Hey! Can I ride with you?” And it all began. We found each other on the Marietta Crit a couple more times, then coordinated hanging out between our races at the Sunny King Crit in March. That following weekend on March 29th, Heather called Kevin up and asked him to hang out. Turns out they lived 2 miles apart. They shared stories and laughs while drinking wine, but they ran out. At that point they decided to ride to the store to get *more* wine. Heather hit the curb wrong and crashed, tore her palm open. They shared their first kiss at the grocery store, and on the way home, Kevin’s tire blew and he went over the handlebars. That night, Kevin went to the hospital and got 3 stitches in his upper lip. And the rest is history. Blood, sweat and tears was the beginning of their story.
