Topgolf is so much fun! Isaac's cover event for our surprise engagement party the night he proposed was Topgolf with some friends. We didn't end up going, but the surprise was even better!
Pindar is just one of the amazing wineries out on the North Fork. We've been multiple times with friends and loved the open seating picnic tables, live music, and cornhole games. If you like sweet wines, Jillian recommends the Riesling!
RGNY was actually our backup wedding venue location! They have a barn off to the side of the property where they hold wedding receptions. We've been here a few times with Jillian's parents to tour the venue as well as with some friends for wine tasting. Here, our recommendation is the Rose or Chardonnay. The covered picnic tables are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the day.
It's a bit of a drive, but the Montauk Lighthouse and beach is a must visit. In late May the town starts to open up and the main street is full of shops and restaurants. The lighthouse was actually commissioned by George Washington and is the oldest Lighthouse in NY. There are a bunch of trails that lead down onto the rocks and to the beach, and you can even take a tour or climb to the top of the lighthouse for amazing views.
For kids, or anyone looking to relive their childhood days, one of Jillian's favorite places to visit when she was younger was the Long Island Aquarium, aka Atlantis Marine World. Maybe it's just the Mandela effect but I could have sworn it was actually called that at one time...? Either way, it has a touch tank, shark cage, sea lion shows, an explorer boat ride down the river, and more!
The Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium was another one of Jillian's favorite places to go while growing up on Long Island. The estate is huge and is incredible to walk around. They do offer tours, but you're able to walk all around the historic mansion, visit the planetarium for one of its famous light shows, and see the unique specimens that Mr. Vanderbilt collected while circumnavigating the globe.
If you're up for a drive, Coney Island beach is a great day trip to walk the boardwalk, sit on the sand, and go to the amusement park for a ride on the Cyclone. But I wouldn't recommend swimming in May as it'll be a bit chilly!
Ah the Tanger Outlets. Who doesn't love them! You can shop the day away over here with tons of stores.
The Catapano Dairy Farm makes fresh cheese and milk from their own cows in Jamesport! Located in the heart of Long Island Wine Country, they often have special events and farm tours. They also have a main farm just down the road with specialty flowers, vegetables, plants, honey, and everything else you can think of from a farm stand.
Briermere Farms is THE PLACE to go for some fresh baked pies, fruits, and veggies. It was always a favorite place to stop at when coming home from apple or peach picking out east. Jillian recommends the Strawberry Rhubarb pie, that's her favorite.
If chocolate is your thing, stop by the North Fork Chocolate company. Their shop carries homemade chocolate, homemade ice cream fudge, Belgian waffles, espresso, coffee, cakes, pies, and more!
