FAQs

Question

Where is your wedding?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be in the same location - the Franklin Plaza Rooftop. Don't worry - it's indoors, but there is an outdoor terrace available to catch your breath and cool off between songs if you need to!

Question

Who is invited to your wedding?

Answer

Everyone we have sent an invitation to is invited to the wedding. Although we would love to have every family member and friend present on our wedding day, we value quality time and want to be able to share special moments with everyone. If you weren't already aware, to invite just every member of the Bride's family would put the guest list at over 120 people - not counting any friends or family friends (You just can't keep the Irish down!). For this reason, even though we are having a small official wedding in December 2025, we are also intending to host a large family reunion style gathering in Falmouth, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) for Summer 2026. More information on this plan will be forthcoming towards the end of Summer 2025 and we do recommend booking your AirBNB or VRBO rental well in advance if you're able to join us on the Cape. This way we will be able to have all of our friends and family AND all of their kids with us to celebrate the start of our married life together. (scroll all the way down on this page for more info on this trip!)

Question

Speaking of kids...are kids invited to your wedding?

Answer

No. We are springing for an open bar and we want our adult friends and family to be able to let loose and party with us without having to worry about your little ones having a tantrum or meltdown and also so our bartenders don't need to worry about checking IDs. However, our Summer 2026 Reunion Extravaganza (official event name TBD) will be kid-friendly and we look forward to sharing summer memories with the kiddos! If you are traveling from out of town to attend our wedding and would like babysitter recommendations, please reach out to the Bride or Groom ASAP so we can line up some recommendations for you.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We have digital RSVPs - so you can either click the RSVP tab on our website or scan the QR code on the back of the invitation you were sent in the mail. If you have any problems with submitting your RSVP, please text the Bride or Groom directly and we will walk you through the process.

Question

Do I have a "Plus One"?

Answer

We know this is an awkward question. If you are in a long term committed relationship, your partner is most likely named on your invitation. If you are in a long term committed relationship and your partner was not named on your invitation, and if the Bride and Groom have met your significant other, please reach out to either the Bride or Groom to verify if your partner is included in our intended guest list. If you have not been in a long term relationship, we aren't able to extend an invitation to your new boo for our wedding day at this time, but we promise you were invited because there are other people at our wedding besides just the happy couple that you will be able to enjoy the evening with.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal and/or Cocktail attire! So bust out your best suit and fanciest cocktail dress - we promise you won't be mistaken for the Bride or Groom so go all out - it's a once in a lifetime event for us so wear what makes you feel best! Remember - there will be a professional photographer and a photo booth for souvenirs - so these pictures will live on forever. Dress to impress!

Question

I have a food allergy - can your caterer accommodate this?

Answer

Yes! You will see a line within your RSVP to notify us of any food allergies you might have so please don't hold back! We have picked menu options that are gluten free and labeled them as such, and there is also a vegetarian option. If you have other allergies we need to be aware of, please let us know when you RSVP.

Question

What is there to do in Troy, NY in December?

Answer

Don't worry - we have a whole curated list under the Things To Do tab on this website that includes restaurant and bar recommendations as well as various attractions both within Troy and in the surrounding areas like Albany, Schenectady, and Saratoga.

Question

It's the day of your wedding and I have a question - who should I ask?

Answer

Not the Bride or Groom. Never the Bride or Groom. We cannot stress this enough - do not call, text, or run into the Bride or Groom with a "problem" to solve on the day of our wedding. Instead, if you have a question about the venue (accessibility features, parking concerns, etc), call Franklin Plaza at 518-270-9622. **Please note that Downtown Troy has free street parking during the hours our wedding takes place and otherwise has a 2 hour limit on free parking. We will not have a valet for our event. If you have a question about your hotel reservation at Best Western Franklin Square Inn, call the hotel directly at 518-274-8800. If you enjoyed our open bar and need to get a safe ride back home or to a hotel further away than across the street from our venue, we recommend downloading Uber or Lyft now and setting up your account in advance. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.

Question

What's all that "Summer 2026 on Cape Cod" talk?

Answer

You heard correctly! We are going to be in Falmouth, Massachusettes (on Cape Cod!) from August 1 to August 8, 2026 and we'd love for you to join us! Come for the week, come for a few days, come for a single afternoon if you want - but come hang out with us and our extended family and friends and their children. We intend to spend lots of days on the beach, lots of nights playing cards and making memories, and we would love if you could join us! Cape Cod is a summer vacation destination - so we recommend booking your hotel room, AirBNB, VRBO, campsite, or other accommodation rental NOW - before our wedding, if possible. Although we MIGHT have a spare couch or bed at our house, we can't promise you that it will be available when you're on the Cape so please don't expect that to be available for you unless you've spoken to Katie ***AND*** Patrick about your travel plans. We will be staying near Grand Ave and Miravista Ave if you intend to search nearby. Falmouth is very walkable, but we recommend having a car to get around to other destinations. There are also several bike paths around the Cape, including one of the Bride's favorite that takes you straight into Woods Hole - an amazing day trip for the kiddos with a stop at the Woods Hole interactive aquarium. With your car you can take a day trip up to Provincetown (a/k/a P-Town) and go to a drag show, snag a ride on a whale watch, or go to the Lobster Pot and get a 3 pound monster of a crustacean for lunch! From Falmouth Harbor you can also take the ferry to Marthas Vinyard - an island with just a single traffic light - take a bus tour or rent a bike to do a self-guided tour around the island. Walk through the Gingerbread Neighborhood and learn about MV's religious revival past. You can also take a ferry to Nantucket and learn about New England's whaling history. We so hope you'll join us for this amazing reunion week!
